Have been reading about symmetry. (Which is the topic of no less than two current challenges!) Wikipedia offers quite a few definitions which I wasn't aware of until now. It's nice to be educated! :-)

//en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Symmetry

Here's a small extract from the page.

Yeah, but can we use a reflection?

Yes. But it's likely to get disqualified in the open challenge if you do :-)

The article suggests many alternative types which I hope might be useful for thinking out of the box in this challenge to avoid reflections.

Personally, I'm a fan of what I call "incipient symmetry", which is about what it sounds like :-)

Something a strong antibiotic might clear up in a week or two? Sorry. I might need a picture and/or a definition you might give to a slow third grader.

This last week, even though I was DQ,I just could not get my mind wrapped around this subject at all. With the help of the awesome members here and taking their time and mentoring me, my light bulb finally came on. I just thought it was going to be just one of those things you are meant for it or you were not.

This is just a new art form of photography I have never been exposed to yet and it was extremely hard for me to understand something like this.

It is a great thing when I am trying so hard to understand something to wrap my brain around a idea or a concept and its finally learned correctly with the awesome members here. I feel that my expansion of knowledge like this and having it be a real challenge has just helped me become a better photographer.

I just want to state the there are lots of lovely entries in the Symmetry Without Reflections challenge. I haven't seen such a challenge before. And all of them are quite different. Even the ones that share a subject or a general idea differ by so much in execution and style. Lovely.

Can't wait for the results.
