Adobe announced Photoshop Elements 3.0 today. It looks like they are combining Photoshop Album into Photoshop Elements, although there are a few nice editing features from CS: Healing Brush and RAW support.

They also announced a video editing program, Adobe Premiere Elements, available separately or bundled with Elements 3.

These new products should ship in a couple of months. Street price is $100 for Elements 3 and $149 for the bundle with Premiere Elements. Upgrade pricing hasn't been announced.

This probably explains the ridicalous low price I found last week for Elements 2- $14.99 after rebates.

...And it works with RAW files too! All this for the platry sum of US$89.99

Are they going to add the Curves control? That's the major feature from Photoshop I find a serious lack in Elements. I'm also guessing you'll still need PS to convert to CMYK for offset printing.

They don't say, but I also hope they will add Curves. I use the Curves adjustment layer add-in that came with The Hidden Power of Photoshop Elements 2, but it doesn't let you go back and re-adjust them later.

It came free with my Epson scanner! I was impressed.

They'll have a Mac version of Elements 3, but not Premiere Elements. See //www.adobe.com/digitalimag/di_dv_splash.html for more info on all their new products.
