This is not a complaint just an observation. The time to shoot the challenge is really getting short.

When I came here it was two weeks (336 hours). It droped breifly to ten days (240 hours). Then to the very nice one week (168 hours).

The latest challenge has about 84 hours to work with.

Yes, it's quite a talented timeline, no? :)

But... where are you getting 84? The challenges are all 1 week now.

We definitely want to give photographers enough time to shoot... we'll be putting up a new feature to allow photographers to see one challenge in advance. This will give you 14 days to shoot, 7 of which are submittable days.

We are trying to keep the submissions at a reasonable number, though. And we'll keep working on means to do so. That, and the more content for you to look at, the better. You can check the site a few times a week and keep coming back!

I assume he's talking about the night-time hours available in a week!

Yes I was talking about the night time hours in a week. Of course I was making the nonfactual assumption of equal light and dark hours and negating differences due to geography. Like I said it was not a complaint just an observation.

I like the one week timeline. I will like the idea of knowing a challenge a week ahead. You should allow the shot to be taken anytime after the anouncement though to lower confusion. I am assuming you decide to keep up the "shoot it for the challenge rule" (which gets my vote by the way.)
