If you're just starting out, and need a good understanding, try this series of books:

I picked up the Exposure and at least one other one a few years ago. I refer back to the Exposure one periodically, just as a refresher to remind myself of the things I forget to do from time to time. |

Parsed for you. Make sure you have the "Automatically Parse URLs" box (under the message area) checked :)

As far as I could see, none of those cheat sheets mention that F Stop is a ratio. They incorrectly imply that the F Stop is tied only to the size of the hole. The same hole that is 2.8 for my 10-22mm is 1.2 for my 55mm.

Yes I do need a good undestanding because for me it is so confusing.
I guess that is why I play a lot with my camera. When I think I have it I turn out I do not LOLOL
Tanguera thank you!!!
posthumous Do you think that the other information is wrong as well, or is it just the F-stops that are misleading? |

for f-stop, just trust the number. don't worry about the size of the hole. If you find that F11 ISO100 1/125 sec works well in the city during daylight, it will work well for most of your lenses. |
