Take a picture based on a previous challenge entry by someone else which has failed to make an average score higher than 5. Attempt to retake a copy or very similar photo, aiming to improve on the original photograph and so the score
The entry would need to be accompanied by the details of the picture copied for comparison?

Now this takes the purpose of the indepth critiques to another level! I like this challenge idea very much.

And whose phot do we get to use? Any volunteers, or do we get to pick a victim?
I think it would work if we had volunteers submit past photos for the challenge. However, some might be a bit put off if they logged on and saw their effort as the example that needed improvement; and had no prior warning.
I like the overall idea, just don't want to see someone running around all upset and embarassed.

I hadn't thought of the people providing the examples as victims Though it might be an oppurtunity for those who feel hard done by, to challenge other members to do better by volenteering pictures for the challenge and then using this pool of pictures as a selection group for everyone else to pick from

I concur. Sounds fun and interesting. Now can it just wait until I get a better camera? I don't know when that will be, but one day, one day I tell you, you will all see my name in the top 3 and tremble in fear.
Or something like that anyways. :P

can we redo our own photos? i don't know about this. it really doesn't give people with less skill any sort of chance

There are so so so many photos on this site that people say were "hard done by", how would you know *which* of the thousands of photos people were trying to replicate?

I guess you'd have to put the name of the photo you are replicating in your title. |
