Photograph any unconfined, precocial or altricial, bird or animal, not yet fledged or weaned. Specifically excluded are domestic, zoo or rehabilitation center animals. Advanced Editing ruleset.

The last wildlife challenge was nearly four years ago.

Wow, talk about a highly specialized and location-specific subject! Perhaps better suited for a side-challenge....?

Is it wise to encourage less-experienced wildlife photographers to intrude on habitat in search ob baby animals, many of whom may be zealously protected by their parents? ADULT wildlife is something most of us can encounter without a problem if we choose to, at least in the case of birds, but I can't recall offhand when I last saw a baby *anything* wild, except for some local turkeys teaching their young to forage...

Isn't it best not to bother wildlife and their young? Are we supposed to find nests and climb a tree?

He's just trying to get all of us arrested (or killed). Clever plan Richard, but you'll have to try harder. ;)

A couple more months and I'll have baby nutria running a muck in my grass!

I don't disagree with the need for a wildlife challenge.

If only the piebald deer would come through my yard at a decent hour during that week.

Uh yeah, seeing that we're still getting nights in the high minus teens around here (and days aren't much better, there was a frostbite warning for this morning). It has to be WARM before birds start laying eggs.

You must get up a lot later than I do and must live a lot further south... it was like -20C when I went to work the last few days.

It was so cold I almost got the better half to cuddle. :O)

Wasn't there a baby animals challenge without time constraints? We could have a similar challenge.
