Not at all. One shot per species.

For the sake of fairness, only photos taken in the month of April will officially count, but I definitely look forward to seeing your results from Cape May!

Ok dokey. Does anyone else have any travel plans or are you just shooting local?

I've been waiting for this to start!! Count me in but it'll just be the same old same old birds for me.

So since I've never participated in this, I just want to verify... the object of the challenge is to take as many pictures of birds as possible throughout the month, only one picture per species and editing not necessary? (I got that last one from an old thread that said that)

You've got it! If you know the common name or species post that too. If you don't someone here will more than likely be able to help identify it.

The thing I love about your participation is that your "same old" birds are life birds for me.

I'll be mostly around a 60 mile radius, but I do have a work trip planned to Boulder, CO in a week, so my camera will likely be coming along. I may be going on a birding trip to Magee Marsh in Ohio, but that's not until the first week in May, so it won't count for this.

I'll be going to Charleston, SC at the end of the month. And I think a day in Myrtle Beach if I remember our plans correctly.

I've never been a birder, so this will be fun. I've warned the Mrs., and she's warned me back that our weekends may be otherwise busy, so I'll do my best and can't promise much.

Thanks! I'm looking forward to this. It'll be my first "side challenge" and I hope it helps me improve my skills. Especially when it comes to shooting with my 70-300mm lens as I often fail at using it >.<

Thanks. I wish I were staying over the weekend so I could join one of your guided trips in RMNP, but I'll have to settle for what I can find mornings and evenings around town.

Please count me in, although for me it may be 13 ways of looking at a grackle ;-)

Grackles can be quite pretty in the right light! Could be an interesting project all on it's own ;-)

Just looked back at last year. Created a collage of them. Hope I can do a better job this year.

Great idea. I'll have to give that a try when I'm back home.
