Different shots, taken last year at Glacier Point with my G2. The lighting was fantastic--late afternoon sun streaming over the glacier, isolated, uninhabited beach with large driftwood, mountains all around...
The most beautiful place I've been. I'd appreciate comments on these. Which one is best? All suggestions for improvements welcome. I loved this scene and I want to try and do it justice.

The middle one has the most impact for me for the following reasons:
1. The driftwood in the forground has a strong presence
2. The subtle changes in colour of the mountains
3. The leading line of the shore leads the viewer around the frame.
The others have only one of the three elements mentioned and therefore don't have as much impact.

Definitely the second of third.
The second one seems oversharpened, or something. Not quite sure, but something seems off that's making it really flat.
So I'm going to say that I like the third one best. Agree the lighting is really beautiful and a great scene. |

| Number 3... - Although they are all beautiful... In a spooky way, especially #3. It looks like some alien monster. Only thing that's missing is Sigourney Weaver and Arnold Schwarzenegger, and then you got "Alien vs Predator"... |

Number 3 is the winner for me. Love the texture and lighting in the mountains. It definitely captures more of a mood than the other shots.

| Number 2. Number 3 is a close contender. Do a little more dramatic black and white conversion and then I'd have to pick 3 |

For me a cropping of number one where the driftwood is more towards the corner of the frame, with the rest of the landscape as it's balance if you will.
Number 2 and 3 the driftwood takes up too much of the frame and attention. It's a beautiful focal point with a great landscape to frame it, I say embrace it good sir!

| I go with the third. Have weakness for abstraction of B&W. Especially the receeding shadings/mts. I find that my eye pleasingly moves between th foreground and receeding background in a gentle relaxing way. Thank you for all theree images |

Ok, I am different or weird as usual. I like the first best as they are right now. The 2nd might be my favorite if it didn't look a little over-sharpened. The third, also gorgeous. All are magnificent!

#2. Just get rid of the sharpening artifacts.

mais oui, el secondo, das zweite Bild.
The frame, to my sense, is overbearing. It flattens what it contains, a worthy image. I'd consider dodging the foreground a lil - to proliferate the driftwood and balance the light spatially.
Great place, and a very good shot of it!
