I have a great idea, in celebration of the expiration of the ridiculous "assault" rifle ban expiring, why don't we all post pics of our guns!?? :) This will make some of you crazy I know. *evil grin*

Great idea Chris!!! Here is the photo I should have entered in the Matrix Challenge... and yes they are all legal.. only 2 are mine... the rest belong to a friend of mine that is a police officer.. and he believes we should all own one...

As I understand it, its Democrats in congress floating the idea of reinstituting the draft.

You are correct. A bill from Hollings, stuck in committee.

On the other hand, the Bush administration has quietly been filling 10,000 positions around the country for draft boards. They will be ready to roll soon.

Forgive me but I only read down through about half of this thread but I think I have the jist of it.

Isn't it true that the lifting of this law really changes nothing? This doesn't allow any new features on guns to be legal. Anyone can go to their local Wal-Mart and purchase a Semi-Automatic gun regardless if it looks like an assault weapon or not. I have several Semi-Automatic guns myself that were purchased at Wal-Mart. Why? To take care of the pests that dig up my yard. Damn critters!!!

I also have an Semi-Automatic SKS which I love. I'm sure it is probably more dangerous than a lot of these assault weapons because of the round size alone. (???)

The only think being legalized in my understanding is that you can now have a gun that LOOKS like it's real brother. Sort of like one of those Porche Kits made on top of a VW Beetle frame. :o)

How do guns save lives? Break in to my house one time with the intent of hurting myself or my wife and I'll show you. :o)
