Yeah, I 2nd that... sure looks like his shot with simply an element added to it. Gee, hope that guy doesn't think his adding it somehow makes the photo his to use! Unless he had permission to use it from Doug. Otherwise, he's a jackass!

The link for convenience :-)

I've sent FotoPages a couple of emails on this... with no results so far. Has anyone else had dealings with them?

Let's all e-mail them...this must be frustrating for you, Doug.

I'm going to e-mail them right now...just a quick note.

Edit: Here's what I sent them:

Please remove this image: //shw.fotopages.com/2334303.html

It's being used without the artist's permission. By contacting me, I can put you in touch with the artist.

Thank you,

Mike

everyone mailing them could be construed as a DOS attack on that company, and is quite illigal.

***

Doug: I did a whois against the domain to find the responsible persons (these are as the name implies, the people who are ultimately responsible for everything done with the domain name).

WhoIs entry for photopages.com:

Registrant:

Elan Dekel
160 W. 57th
New York, NY 10019
US

Registrar: DOTSTER
Domain Name: fotopages.com
created on: 29-Apr-03
expires on: 29-Apr-05
Last Updated on: 23-Mar-04

Administrative Contact:
Dekel, Elan dekelelan@yahoo.com
160 W. 57th
New York, NY 10019
US
066331197

Technical Contact:
Kass, Ron ron@fotopages.com
160 W. 57th
New York, NY 10019
US
067-606-543

Domain servers in listed order:
ns.boardscape.net
ns2.boardscape.net

start with the administrative contact, but then (if no response) you can try the technical contact and eventually move on to contacting the hosting company directly.

While fotopages.com will likely have a user agreement that states they are not responsible for what a user posts, their hosting company has a similar one which can be used to force them to do something about it or lose their hosting. :D

good luck
David

Okay, fancypants, I didn't mean everyone! ;0)

Your method seems like it will be more effective, anyway!

NOT!!

Everyone mailing them could be misconstrued as a DOS attack but it is not, by any stretch of the imagination, illegal.

I sent an email to the Admin contact, hopefully that will help. Thanks for your help as well.

Good luck in getting it straightened out, Doug! Let us know what happens :-)

Maybe all you have to do is go to the actual persons fotopage //koste.fotopages.com/ and tell her the original image is yours and you want it removed....

There is no place to email the person that put the photo up. NOW, I've found that he has it posted on another site too!!

Here's the Other LINK!

That person has apparently stolen one other photo as well, which looks like the Blue Ribbon winner from the Nude II challenge.

Unbelievable..

You beat me to it, Doug! Man, I bet she's gonna be pissed! I'd hate to be in that guy's shoes; She doesn't take any crap off anybody (based on her forum demeanor, anyway). Go get him, Girl!!!
