i do appreciate that others appreciate it. i guess my brain doesn't work the way i need it to to get it.

Here's a wonderful, detailed look at a Mondrian in the Art Institute of Chicago and how it was made. Turns out Mondrian has a lot more in common with the Old Masters than, say, a Frank Stella does :-)

I'm not hip to Mondrain so the two things that came to mind after looking at the link were Legos and Rubiks cube.

Agree with Jan. Any "in the style of Mondrian" will be a superficial use of his lifetime quest.
