Can I clone out a flash unit under advanced rules? Someone will say send a ticket, I know; I have been here for eight years and a simple "yes" or "no" will do great, I am not holding anyone legally responsible or their reply.
Thanks

I'd guess no. There was a studio shot many years ago where a lightbox was 'shopped out, and it was DQd.

This is a small flash unit that may be considered a highlight area or a power line. Well, If no one of the admins replie I will take your word for it and miss the masters III challenge

Thanks

Just what you wanted a "no" and a "yes"

When these threads come up, I always think of DrAchoo's cookie photo that was discussed in this thread. The photo passed validation in 2008. I'm not sure if the rules or SC opinions have changed since that date, but I've always been left with the impression that you can clone out more than you think you can.

Without seeing the image, it would be difficult to have an "informed" opinion. But if it IS just a highlight, then I'd say yes, you can. Would it be possible to crop in a little to eliminate it without affecting the composition?

I think you kinda answered your own question here... it's not necessarily a simple yes or no. Send us a ticket and let us give you some opinions on it. It may very well be perfectly legal.
