anyone want to help me, I only have about 8000 too choose from, and when I have to much choice, I nearly always pick the wrong one!

Only 8000?

Shoot, people should buy used camera bodies off of you! :D

In a little over two weeks, we'll be voting on the Master's Free Study, the monthly Free Study and Best of 2013, all at the same time. Does it get any better than that?

I'm a little ahead of ' . substr('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', strrpos('//www.dpchallenge.com/images/user_icon/21_F.gif', '/') + 1) . ' Neat. I've only got part of September and all of November and December to sort through yet, but I've pulled a few candidates. While sorting and searching, don't forget that "Art of 2013" should be coming up in about a month, too.

So here's a question. I just entered, but my membership runs out in 15 days. This doesn't close for 15 days and 11 hours. So will my entry stay in or be booted out?

It should stay. I've entered a Free Study before a membership lapse before, and my entry stayed.

Guess I do things backwards. I sort and rate images as I process each day's shooting. It's pretty easy to find the best at the end of the year. It would be tedious to sort through thousands. I have about a dozen. Have already entered the challenge. It's time to work on Best of 2014.

So the rules say that the photo has to be taken between 1/15/2014 and 1/30/2014. I'm assuming that's really not the case for this challenge, right?

I've sent a note to SC....it should read Jan 1st, 2013 to Dec 31st, 2013.
01/16/2014 01:48:20 PM · #14
Submission Deadline: Thursday, January 30th, 2014 (began Jan. 15th 2014)

I read it as the challenge was announced Jan.15, 2014, and submissions have to be in by the regular time on Jan. 30, 2014.

in the Upload area...

it reads...

"I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Jan. 15th 2014 and Jan. 30th 2014. If requested, I will provide the unedited, original file from my digital camera within 48 hours. I have followed the Advanced Editing rule set, taking into account any extra rules listed above.*"

to me that means the picture had to be taken during that time period...it's just a fupa....

I suggest everyone ignore the sloppy typos and submit an image taken in 2013 no later than Midnight (DPC server time = Eastern Time), Thursday, January 30, 2014.

I've learned to overlook the typo's here...lol (as some have learned to overlook mine....pffftttt) I just wanted to make sure that anyone "newer to the site" didn't get turned off because of the wrong info...wink

Problem is can't moodily until the typo gets fixed, same as Masters challenge

What's a moodily? And why can't you?

The challenge page wording is no different now than it ever has been for one of these.

Could be a typo,

I'm not entering my best photo, very rarely do, I'm entering my fave photo!

excuse me, it the Masters challenge

I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Jan 1 2013 and Dec 31 2013. If requested, I will provide the unedited, original file from my digital camera within 48 hours. I have followed the Advanced Editing rule set, taking into account any extra rules listed above.*

which should be for the best of 2013. I try to make changes in my entry for the Masters, like just the title, I get this

The date you have entered is outside the challenge dates. Please submit a different photograph that was taken during the challenge dates. The best of 2013 and Masters seem to be switched.
I can't be the only one with this problem

I have the same problem as Frank: The Master's challenge requires that I submit a photo from 2013 while the Best of 2013 wants one from January, 2014. These two challenge requirements need to be switched. Otherwise I can't enter a photo in either challenge /or/ I can misrepresent the dates and hope it gets straightened out later.

Does anyone want to critique and advise me on selecting my "Best of", and, hopefully, "Art of" entries? I've got some favorites, but want validation of my choices or someone to save me from myself if necessary. The more eyes, the merrier.

Thanks in advance!

Frank

It's already been reported/discussed in this thread. Be patient.
