Contest page now known as "true-awards.com" separated from DPChat.net!
My final decision on the contest website stands for 4 times a year turnaround and additional stuff for prizes, such as Mastering Model Shoot by Frank Doorhof!
First contest HATS will be awarded with,
1st place : 1 Year Free DPChallenge membership, Mastering Model Shoot book and framed certification
2nd place : 1 Year Free DPChallenge membership, framed certification and a 15 oz. "True Awards" coffee mug
3rd place : "DPChat.net" 11 oz. coffee mug and framed certification
4th and 5th places will get a framed certification each
Submissions with a simple registration is open... no fees required now and ever! *Please read the rules*
deadline is end of this month!

To those already registered, just to let you know you don't have to wait for the deadline. There is no restriction when the photo was taken, could be 10 years ago, or a month ago, as long as you have the original. Subject is "HATS" to honor "Hat awards"...
Public voting starts end of this month and will go only 1 week not 1 month due to low entry as of now! After the public voting, there will be a week long juried selection of first 5 images and they will be awarded.

Public voting starts end of this (Jan 2014) month... February all month (I could drop that to two weeks now, since I do have many people helping me out for the giveaways) there will be a public voting, then 5 selected jury members will award top 5. All 5 winners will get something in the mail, no electronic ribbons... because there is no membership, there are no members page.
All photos, from all time are ok as long as you have the originals with you! |

If you have registered to DPChat.net contest webpage, remember, there is no time restriction or any other restrictions for your entry other than you have to have the original image file, straight out of the camera. By uploading your photos earlier, you'd help me to find any bugs that needs to be fixed, if there is any. Submissions ends January 31st and public voting starts February 1st.

I am in search of jury members for upcoming contests including the "HATS" subject open right now. I do have one person from Photo Camel website, need another 4 people for the job.
Jury voting takes 1 month, no rush.
Preferred requirements for the jury member:
- A pro photographer who is currently making money out of photography, full time or part time.
- A photographer who was a jury member in the past for another official photo contest(s)
- Anyone from DPChallange website or outside DPChallenge website is ok.

I gave hats in the past to those we (as in most active members) think deserves one as well.
Such as late Sherryl (RIP)
...and bribing purposes to  Langdon
etc...
However, by giving free hats away, I encourage people to...
1-become a member (for some selected challenges such as February Free study)
2-just join to DPC and try to win (as the second hat offer in February open place)
I will be also giving hats to those who didn't win, never had a ribbon but passed other none-ribbon registered members regardless their place, which also was done in the past.
So, most giveaways done with my decision, but there will be some that I ask other members (active members the most) help me out who should get one. |
