IMO it looks flat, the lights don't stand out and seems to be a bit blured. The photo is a good photo and worth another shot.

Well, I like it. A distracting blue highlight/spot in the center of the water is the only thing that caught my eye. Might be a little better if you took it a tad bit earlier so that the outline of the bridge was more evident, but I think it is just fine.

What was your focus point?
Were you just after the night skyline?
The skyline is nice but the bridge is distracting from it.

I would try another shot with a better view of the skyline and put the bridge coming into the shot from the right or left side.

I find the best time for this type of shot is just as the sun sets and the lights are on.

Nice work overall.

i was actually trying to make the bridge my focus point. it was windy out tonight and i dont have a very heavy tripod so that might account for the slight blur feel. i dont have many other places that i can attempt this kinda shot. the closer i get to the bridge, the more chance i get tackled by the cops guarding the bridge and then the next thing you know im a terrorist.

thank you all for taking the time to comment

it's a bit soft on focus but seems pretty good to me.
Hey the ESB was yellow 2day. never seen it that colour b4!

Something about the darkness of the left side of the shot that doesn't feel right.

A quick curves adjustment really brings out the light & colors. I set the black point to the tree, and the white point to the brightest spot in the water. Looked a lot better, to me anyway. If you don't have Photoshop I can upload my edit if you want.

I hope you don't mind me posting a second time on your photo. But I'm like you, something about the photo grabs me but at the same time something is distracting. Now I'm an amateur at the best so take my opinion for what's its worth. All elements of the photograph are exciting but them together clash. What I mean by that is the bridge cuts the skyline in half. If you could get a bit closer where the bridge would go over the skyline or take the picture from the opposite side bringing the bridge in from right to left that may help. PLEASE understand I think you took a great photo and this is just my 2 cents worth.

i think you should evaluate your thirds, there seems to be a bit too much sky and foreground. consider zoooming in slighty for a tighter composition and try extending exposure by another stop or two.

i would try to get closer. but those trees u see over there, thats the state park, im standing in a federal park. they dont give 2 craps about you taking photos in the federal park. but step into the state park and they dont want cameras in their park. i got yelled at by them once because i had my camera there. and also that park closes at like 10, and i took that pics at like 10:10 ^_^

I like it. Beautiful image. The only thing I would do different if you can is move over to the left as to get the whole bridge. It's almost like there is to much black area in the bottom left corner.

The only thing I don't like about it is the glow of the lights around the lights on the support wires of the bridge. I like everything else about it. That glow is what attracted my eye right away.
But I think the exposure is good. Colors are really nice. Ok, maybe a little too heavy on the left with the building silhouette. But thats it! (: Great work. Cheers....Martin
