WOW! That's a fantastic deal for a really nice lens. I think my wife paid $499 for it as a Christmas gift for me a few years back. If I didn't already have one, I'd be on that like stink on a monkey.

Yes, I paid the $479 or thereabouts for my Nikon version. It's a great lens--though not as good as the 10-22 was for my Canon.

I neglected to mention that this is one of those 24 hour deals--or while supplies last. Sometimes they sell out quantity before the 24 hours.

Also, did you guys notice that the Nikon D750 with the 24-120mm F4 lens is now on sale at Amazon for $2700. That's like getting the D750 for $1700!

If I weren't trying to move away from Full frame SLRs, I'd jump on it! And it's "still" tempting me anyway!

I bought that kit and sold 24-120 (no need of a f/4 lens for me). I'm surprised of the price. I bought it for less in Italy where the prices are higher. D750 is a great camera, super for its price.

Careful with that one. Unless you're planning on keeping the 24-120, it's cheaper to just get the body. B&H has the body only for $1996, and the market is flooded with 24-120's that people got as part of a kit. I was only able to get $600 for my "used half a dozen times but still basically new" retail gold box one.

Same problem for me here, but mine was new and I got more than you for it (800$). In any case there are thousands of them out now.

Good to know, but I'm hopefully done buying DSLRs. My two go to cameras for travel now are the FZ1000 and the X-T1.

I was only "thinking" that it would be better to have than my D600, which I'm not getting rid of yet. But I would not take it on a trip again (I did bring it to Zion/Bryce/Grand Canyon two years ago--the only big trip it has been on. I would sooner take the D7100 with the 18-200 and 10-20mm Sigma, because the 16-35 and 28-300 are way to big and heavy. And of course, I wouldn't carry the 24-70 F2.8 or 70-200 F2.8...those are only for local jobs. But I've never been a big fan of the D7100.

We'll see if and when I decide it's time to sell the DSLR stuff! I can use the lenses on my X-T1, but those big lenses without VR aren't really useful...better on the D7100 if I'm going to use them.

Yep, exactly. I just got back from a trip to the Palouse. It was a driving trip, so I took everything I own to see what I really want to shoot with. I shot half of everything with the D800 and big lenses, and half with the E-M1 with m4/3 2.8 zooms. I ended up gravitating to m4/3, because it was easier to get the DoF I wanted for landscapes with the smaller sensor. I would have ended up shooting nearly all of it with the E-M1, but I didn't bring a polarizer that fit the 35-100 f/2.8, so I shot a lot with the Nikon 70-200 f/4. Image quality was great either way.

I'm waiting for it to go on the B&H Daily Deal for $500.

Then I just need the Canon adapter for my Fuji X-T1!

A bargain at twice the price. You actually turned your credit card information to them?

Thanks Neil. I followed suit. The Sony web site was really really slow so I speculate they are getting a lot of orders.

Thanks Neil. I ordered two. The sony store doesn't even show the A7r for sale now. They took it down, but we got our order in before they shut it down. I hope they stand by the orders made before they took it down.

It was directly from Sony. It was Sony's online store.

I'm not a big paypal user, so I don't know how good they are.

The reason I thought this could be a non-scam is that tomorrow Sony could announce their A7rII, which is imminent.

Well, it looks to be backordered now ... I assume this is for the body only -- how much would a reasonable set of lenses cost?

It was backordered even when I ordered.

The lens I would be most interested in is the 16-35mm: //www.amazon.com/Sony-16-35mm-Vario-Tessar-E-Mount-Lens/dp/B00NGTN25C

This lens presumably works well with it (according to Trey Radcliffe) even though it would not be at full resolution: //www.amazon.com/Sony-SEL1018-10-18mm-Wide-Angle-Zoom/dp/B0096W1ONK

Then of course, there's the 28-70 (Sony) and 24-70 (Sony/Zeiss). None of them cheap, and the Sony/Zeiss in that case gets mixed reviews.
