I like the original better - I think it makes a stronger connection with the look of the eyes. Both are very nice.

I like the submitted one more. Great shot as I already wrote.

That would be hard to choose from these two shots. I think I would have did what you did. Here eyes really stand out. Beautiful pictures!

The first one is the definition of portraiture and the second one is the definition of candid portraiture.

The first one works better because of the position of the subjects eye and the viewer is automatically drawn to that. Makes you wonder what she looking at.

The second one gives an expression that she's reacting to something or someone.

Seeing both of these shots lead me to believe that you have a good eye for shooting people so you may try your hand at wedding photography in which you should excel, if you aren't already doing it.

These are the types of shots that a bride and groom would love to enjoy when they look back at their wedding years later.

Yeah I've done wedding before with limited success, I did not have the equipment I have now. So next wedding I'm there for sure looking like a total geek with big lens and big flash on big stroboframe...

Honestly, I like the second one a bit better, Her smile is really nice and the side view gives more dimension. Just my thoughts. I like the original too. Van

I gave your submission a 10. She is very beautiful and looks lke a Cinderella. The out-take is good too, but to me does not have the wishfull/wistfull expression that your submission does. Congratulations for placing in the TOP 10!

yup, you made the right choice for sure. The only thing I prefer about the second one is that she stands out a tiny bit more from the background. This could easily be changed in ps.

in the first one her look is more "discreet" somehow (sorry, can't find the right word in english), which suits cinderella better. So although the second picture is maybe livelier and a more expressing portrait of the girl, I think for the challenge and the subject, you choose the right one.

I think you made the right choice. The first one keeps me in the picture, trying to join her in her dreams, wondering about her thoughts. The second one makes me wonder what is going on outside the picture, a nice image, but less fitting to the challenge.
