Cool!

I was certain that mine would've been the lowest. There's still time though.

I want it documented as I am sure this will not happen again any time soon.

Just absolutely fantastic showing everyone, I really thought I had this in the bag, until I saw just exactly how awesome this challenge turned out. Very impressed.

I agree!

I am running on a 4.4 and that is okay.

For the first time in years I have THREE challenge entries to watch. As I said, 4.4 is okay because another one is in the high 5s and the other one lower 6s. So, 4 and 5 and 6, who thought I still know some tricks.

As my lovely friend said. Happy to be on a 4ish, that is where my image belong. Well, hope to get to a 5 some time, but that is all ego and no entitlement. LOL!

Love the quality of this challenge.

Okay, having viewed the entries 4 times now and voting 100%, I am confused. This was one of the most unambiguous challenge descriptions/topics/themes in a long time. Yet, in my opinion, there are an unusually high percentage of shots that just don't even come close to hitting the mark. How/why does this happen?

Obviously some people read only the title and not the details - and in this case surely did not view the "inspiration" gallery. I saw about 12% that I think fall into this category. I vote them lower, too, even if the image is IMO good.

I guess I should had done mine in the exact style....even though it stated "create your own photograph in a similar style". Same old DPC voting style......hmmmmm

I think collectively we did very well in this challenge. That's the spirit of "NEW HAPPINESS" IMO. Probably the toughest challenge to score I've seen. It's really hard, in some cases, to score one image higher than another.

Nope, not at all. I'm currently on a 2.7 which is fair enough. What happened with me i found quite interesting. I was initially very keen on the challenge as it's the sort of thing i normally really like doing and viewing. I left it last minute but went out last night a took a few shots that i thought i quite liked. These were very much 'in the style of Angus MacDonald'. When i came to viewing them on my computer and trying to choose which one to submit i found them all incredibly boring and uninspiring. I had no connection to them at all. So i thought i'd go back and have another in depth look at MacDonald's website and spent a while going through the photographs and i came to the conclusion that i found most of his photographs dull and boring as well. There we're a handful i liked but for the most part they didn't touch me. This was a bit of a shock as, as i said, it's normally the type of photography i get a lot out of and i think a lot of my own photos in the past would have fitted this challenge quite well. Anyway, i decided to go with a photograph that i did feel a connection to; and one that i did feel related in some way to the challenge-i didn't just throw in a dnmc.

2.7 is alright though and i can see the voter's point but i can't be bothered to submit images just for the sake of it anymore.

Im really surprised to see some of the low scores being posted, I havent voted yet but I cant see any that would deserve being scored below 4 or 5, craziness I tell ya!!

Score's alright but the comments aren't exactly flowing (1 comment after 11 votes) which is quite surprising considering people have been saying how impressed they are by the entries.

Stats: You have rated 81 of 81 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.6790.

I see some really great images in this challenge... whether mimicking or in the spirit of "New Happiness."
If you choose to create your own style for a "style" challenge, then be prepared for the fallout.

Ok, now in the low 4... PW quite sure :)
