Now the only thing is to collect ribbons :)

Very well put Óskar.

Agree. And also agree collecting ribbons (hmmmmmmmmm).
There has been some discusion lately about some divition here and I think that has been solved very nicely.

Think it will be a great achivement for some of us when we will be aloved to take part in the "Masters"-challenges. Surely hope that I will be there some day.

I really hope that all the people that can participate in this challenge does participate.
09/03/2004 02:54:16 PM · #29
So who's to vote for the winner pic?
If all members can vote, then at least we should be able to read the rules.

And for all you (and me) ribbonless - stop whining!
To have a special challenge for the non-ribbon would not be interesting.
Any other challenge is open to all non-ribbon users as it is.
Besides, what's the big deal? It's not like you're gonna loose some real expensive price just cause you can't participate...
I'm here for the learning. The competition itself is just for the fun.
Enjoy it!

I just figured out how to wrap this one up:

Get my Neice with her watering can (The Sapling),
fill the can with coffee and have her pour it out (Morning Essentials)
all over a Water Lily (Just Floating)

ROFLMAO!

Hmmm, Maybe If I re-register as "Heido" I can trick the server into thinking I'm Heida!

But seriously, folks. I like this idea, and I have some suggestions for other specialized challenges... However, I'll save them for the Challenge Suggestions Forum. I just want to mention, however, that the proper counterchallenge for Master would be twofold: Journeyman(1 or 2 Ribbons) ]and Novice(No Ribbons).

Now, I just hope nobody forms a gang of unruly elements, striving to thwart the Masters by trolling the entries that look recognizable...

Good Luck, Masters!

Why can't we "lesser mortals" at least see the rules? I'm assuming we won't get to vote here, as well. Correct?

Anyone got 2 ribbons they could spare?

This might've been better with a "three scores of 7 or above", some of the challenges are just substantially more challenging than others (in terms of competition). Ribbons are relative.

I thought 2 ribbons was pretty good I'm sad that I'm one short of being a "master". Maybe I'll get a ribbon in the next two challenges. LOL

I'm going to take a shot in the dark and say if they let you look at the rules, there would be no way to prevent you from submitting a photo as it's all on the same page.

ps ... there's nothing to see anyway, it's an open topic.

neener neener.

I think that this is a very bad idea. The people who have earned three or more ribbons know how to score here anyway, and thus already have an advantage. So why exclude everybody else and give even more ribbons to those who already have them?

Also, this will only help to create even more similar pictures here - a "DPC style". It's already quite easy to tell which pictures will win, and I believe more diversity should be the goal now rather than equalization.

So if anybody cares for my opinion: This is a stupid, elitist idea, and I can only hope that this experiment will show that and will not be repeated.

The same program logic used to prevent you reading the rules could have been used a little further down where you click on "submit".

No big deal. (I'm just jealous... I have no ribbons - yet :-(

Anyway, what about voting? Will only 3-ribbon+ people be able to vote, or is that aspect of it open?

You know what guys? You know how the dpc moderators like to surprise us with things. Maybe, just maybe there is a challenge awaiting the ones who haven't won any ribbons.
Don't start whining. Just enjoy and work harder at getting a ribbon.
:-)

Wahay, bring it on!!!

This would be a great competition if only people with 3 or more ribbons could vote! I think this would be a great incorporation into this experimental challenge. Thanks admins!

Yeah, I'd really like to know who can vote...at first, I was hoping everybody could but now that I've thought about it I hope that only the Master's can vote...that way jealous envy-asses don't vote everyone in the 1-5 range instead of 1-10!

It's a "Free Study" which usually means the time limit is the only constraint.

What about an elite masters challenge for those with 5 or more blue ribbons? ;-)
