Nice idea!
I'm just jazzed that I can participate with the best of the best!
Knowing who the competition will be, I'm aiming for the Brown Ribbon.
LOL

how does this work? I cant even see the details of the challenge
09/03/2004 02:31:51 PM · #3
I think it kind of sucks. No ribbons, no participation.
Or at least it tells me I haven't won enough ribbons to participate.

Who gets to vote? And which photographers are involved? Are there any more details I can get about this challenge...I think it's a neat idea.
09/03/2004 02:32:27 PM · #5
so what happens if you ribbon in Fairy Tales or Framing, but have no ribbons yet...?
09/03/2004 02:33:24 PM · #6
Also, it goes until September 30th???

I liked the idea a lot until I read that...

Edit: I still like the idea, but that's really dragging it out for everybody else that's not involved, which I'm assuming is most of the members.

Shouldn't a Master's Challenge be more challenging?

just read th details, you have to have 3 or more ribbons to participate & it is a free study challenge so it runs all month long.

I think it would be a matter of having a minimum of 3 ribbons as of the time they posted the announcement. I would also suspect this would be a member's only vote challenge.

If you don't have the 3 ribbons, there aren't any details for us to read (just so you would know whay there are so many folks with questions).

so what happens if you get 3 ribbons within the month?
are you allowed to participate?

Just hope they even it out and have a challenge you can't enter if you have a ribbon

Rooster, you have many chances of making this challenge. Only 2 more ribbons to go :)

No kidding. I did not think that when I paid to become a member I would still be excluded from challenges just because no one like my images enough for them to ribbon.

That'd be pretty cool...the only thing is it would mean less for somebody to win that ribbon, because the 'top half' (in some ways) of the competition has been eliminated.

Maybe have a challenge of that nature, but not award an official dpc ribbon to the winner?

the description is:

"Description: Congratulations to all those who have received ribbons. Only members who have placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in 3 or more challenges are able to participate in this challenge. Good luck! This is an experimental challenge."

That would stink for someone like me who hasen't won enough ribbons to participate in the Master's Free Study, but have won one ribbon.

not if they make it "anyone with 2 ribbons and below"

Congratulations to those of you who can enter this...It will be a neat challenge to watch.

I just wish it didn't go all month, as it would have been neat to apply more pressure in a 'Master's Challenge'.

Also, I hope us rookies can vote! Although, in a way...it's probably better if only those who enter can vote *he says reluctantly*.

Great challenge. Congratulations to those who can participacte. I guess I and all the others will have to do their best to get some ribbons to be able to participate in a master challenge.

I agree, that would be fun :) Maybe some of us "non-masters" would have a chance to win lol. I'm really looking forward to seeing the results of the Master's Challenge though, I imagine there will be some amazing entries.

Are you kidding me ? Stop crying, you can take part in 2 challenges every week, this is extra, nothing is beein taken away from. If you don't like this, just ignore it.

I think that this is the best idea I have seen in this site for a long time.

Now the only thing is to collect ribbons :)

Now I can't wait for the Canon Cup, Nikon Cup, Olympus Cup, Sony Cup, Konica/Minolta Cup,etc and the winners of those events battle for the Best Camera :P
