No way to upload RAW files here. Perhaps after the 10 files are picked we can get folks to upload RAWs to a dropbox or something similar.

Here's one from a recent (like I just got home last night) trip. An old Chevrolet truck in a northern New Mexico town.

Okay, here's my submission for post processing help.
I know it has potential, but I don't know how to pull it out.
That critter has been pacing in the bay for years now.
The shipping? Well it's around all the time too.

Oh, yes. I have this in RAW but could not figure out how to load a RAW file.
When the error messages began repeating themselves, I gave up so here's the jpeg.

Suggestions are welcome... I know what a dropbox is for the most part, but I've never used one personally.

Alice, are you pulling our collective leg? That "critter shows SIX LEGS, and it sure looks like it's been pasted in from elsewhere, there's zero detail on it...

HehHeh, six legs? but who's counting.
Actually that's a flat piece of sculpture (?) mounted on that derelict piling - and that white thing in front of it is a spotlight. The strange critter's been there forever, don't know about the spotlight.

Honest, people stick strange things in our Bay.

Here's a closeup of the critter from the same day's shooting:

You can see somebody tried to exterminate the critter without success.

If it's going to be RAW only then I can't go, I don't have any RAW files.

It doesn't matter. RAW is just an option, not a requirement. Personally, I'd be happy to keep it all JPG hosted in DPC and avoid the whole Dropbox issue, but it's not my game so, easy-peasy is my name :-)

Hah! That's cool. But I don't believe that's a spotlight: I think it's another sculpture, a simple bust of a human head. I certainly don't see how they'd get POWER to it, anyhow...

Yup, you're right Bear. A close look also tells me it's a head.
Now how'd the artist get THAT in place!

Let's keep it simple this time and stick with our Workshop.

Thanks for the heads up :). I usually don't catch updates from earlier in the thread. Best to post it new to the thread or to PM it to me.

BTW... still waiting on some originals from some of you. You have until midnight tomorrow EST to be eligible for selection. I, personally, am getting pretty excited. I forgot how fun this was last time.

As for the selection process... I toyed with the idea of randomly generating 10 of the participants then having them pick 1 each, but that'll surely prove problematic for many reasons. Bear_Music has volunteered to head the selection process and I'm inclined to happily accept :D.

edit for the happily inclined smiley...
