97 - 100 = tie
95 - 97 = tie
93 - 94 = tie
89 - 94 = tie
84 - 80 = tie
83 - 65 = tie breaker

So if I'm reading this correctly, under the "old" rule set which assigns ties to scores within 5% of one another and is the operant set here, the critical scores after the 2nd round would now be the 6th place scores (except we only go four places)? COOL!

It's a real nail-biter! :-)

What's simply astonishing is the consistency! It's really amazing that Strikeslip, Damon, tome, Garry, bhuge, Paul, PennyStreet AND jaysonmc all scored EXACTLY the same percent in second challenge as they scored in the first challenge.

If ever there was a word to describe me, consistency would not be it :)

If you are going by the results that Slippy posted, I think what you are seeing are highest placements from everyone after round two. I haven't double checked all of them, but I think this is what is going on.

Really - this is quite spectacular. Two randomly chosen teams, fought it out the whole season, and now are going head to head with high quality shots from ALL team members. I think THIS is really part of the heart and soul of DPC.

Good luck everyone with that last rollover! Should be quite exciting to see how it all shakes down.

Might be a good idea, in case there's a tie after comparing the first four scores, go on with number 5 or even number 6. Makes all team players equally important!

So a new ruleset was posted somewhere for the playoffs? Can someone post a link?

I compared challenge to challenge, and it's really true - all of those folks scored the exact same percentile finish in both challenges... The odds are pretty darn low that 2 out of 3 players would place so consistently.

Maybe I am looking at this wrong but I don't think Penny and Jayson did?

No, I was not trying to say there was a new rule set for the finals. Sorry if my post was the source of any confusion.

I'm usually one to miss something so I thought I'd ask :)

Oh hell.

Never mind. He posted the first results too didn't he.

Well, that makes more sense, there was no way they could be that consistent. LOL.

That's right, those are the best scores per player after the second period.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL!

Wow! What a RACE!

It looks like we have a tie game... now what? :)

Call it a tie?
Or go six places? That's what I would look at next. And if it was indeed a tie through the third challenge (I am not on either team and haven't looked closely), WOW and very well done, all.

Great job to all, if it comes out to be a tie, my vote is to leave it as such and lets move on to the second season. Rounds of beer for both teams but Naked Pedestrians is flipping the bill :)

I think it's pretty darn impressive to have two randomly chosen teams finish it out like this. Congrats to my teammates for submitting such amazing work. And congrats to the Dodge and Burnouts for raising the level of competition and also turning in some equally amazing photos.

Trophies for all.. or not.. doesn't matter. Congratulations all. It's been awesome.

I believe the final percentages for both teams are 94+%. The stats on top tens finishes is probably ridiculous as well.

This last round really tired me out. Slippy is now on make-believe holiday. Pass the sunscreen.

Men with mullets don't use sunscreen.

Be nice if that was the case, but it's really not the heart and soul lately. The only time people have been passionate is in defending themselves from perceived attacks, insisting that certain people cause problems, and then a bunch of the TPLers for the challenge.
Sadly the site is not TPLchallenge.com, and TPL has only run for a small fraction of time. It'd be great to keep it going, because a lot of people need something like this to motivate them to shoot decent images for some of the more lackluster topics lately.

? Where are the TPL organizers? I demand some pomp and circumstance!
