Yup, that's the PS default resolution of images I open through Lightroom. I didn't notice it until recently and was wondering why my computer was struggling to keep up with filters and saving. Any ideas why it's defaulting to this absurd number?

The DPI setting will not affect processing speed -- the number is completely irrelevant until you send the data to a printing device, where it tells you how many pixels to squeeze into each inch of printed image.

The only thing which affects processing speed is the total number of pixels, so unless the program is resampling the image upon import it should have no effect.

The DPI setting is often some completely arbitrary number, and probably results from the slight differences in the way camera manufacturers store the data in the EXIF fields.

I'm just learning LR (which is VERY quirky), so this might help.

Paul, I do believe the pixels are also altered to like 10000 on one side. Turns out they're huge.

Thanks!
