Again, I didn't say I give lowball votes to flowers. I won't give a 1, 2, or 3 to to a flower just because I'm not a fan of flowers. It would have to be the same level of bad to get that low vote as any other shot that I would give such a vote to. If it's well done, it will likely get a 6 from me, which is probably still more generous than many others voting habits. Occasionally one does get a higher vote.

I only low vote landscapes, portraits, studio shots and macros. Everything I score very highly.

anything with the bicycle or even with the wheel I score 1...but then on the other hand I give one to every entry I see in voting... that way I keep it all even...no one can accuse me of playing favorites.

I just hacked Yo_Spiff's account and just low ball all his shots...

It's easier that way...

;)

If I'm not wrong, even Spiffy enters a flower shot once in a while.

Yes, but I want a 7. At least. On every flower shot. If I don't get it, I am delighted to have found someone specific to blame. Other than me, of course, because it can't be my fault if my shots don't score as well as I expect. This is America, after all. Although possibly blaming other people is not a uniquely American trait ...

(Apparently I'm still feeling contrary, and it's too early in the day for a relaxing alcoholic beverage. I'll go see if I can find some chocolate to cheer me up instead.)

Oh, and to get back on topic:

You have rated 199 of 199 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 19 images (10%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.1005.

And I STILL don't have a 7 on my own entry. Just a 6.22. Someone go vote it up. It's the one with the thingamabob in it, with the doohickey in the background and some colors. Or not. Oh, heck, just vote 'em all up!

I'll trade you your lowly 6.22 for my currently unknown score behind door number 2!

Two fine comments. A good score. I'm not complaining. I thought the top end of this challenge had spectacular images. I expect to finish in 45th place.

I voted yesterday.

Not sure if you meant me in particular (I guess there could be some others too) but it's not 2 years later. It's 3.
And for none of the reasons you suggest....just couldn't find anything else worthwhile enough to shoot and thought
it might be fun to try and improve on my previous effort and see how it does this time round.
But like I said...not sure if you meant me as you did not comment on my previous effort nor on this one :)

Afterthought...

Fred, it seems to me that Hussar is simply doing his best to blame most of us for lack of originality and having run out of categories to cover, resorted to the old 'and those of you still shooting the same stuff 2 yrs later'.

I have an idea as to what he may mean by that statement but a) he hasn't addressed anyone in particular, and b) I love my shot, I am very happy with it, and honestly don't give a rat's arse about his opinion :-)

So in short don't take it personally unless it is addressed to you as such, and if it is it should only be in a PM.

That is a perfect statement, and if everyone felt this way DPC would be a much happier place!

1. I didn't mean anyone in particular (and if i did they heard about it in their comments)
2. Anyone who receives a 4 or lower from me, gets a comment explaining why I voted that way (even if they don't agree they'll at least know why). All my top votes get comments as well. Folks in the 5-6 category typically miss out unless I have time...
3. Even on image with "same 'ol boring stuff" I judge partially based on its standalone merits
4. However, part of the fairness of this voting process is for the photographer to remain anonymous through the process and those whose images are instantly recognisable (intentionally or not) are ruining this system through biased voting (which in theory can go both ways...but typical human nature of admiration / envy / friendships suggests otherwise)

You have rated 199 of 199 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 40 images (20%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 5.3518.

I pushed myself for this entry and I am happy that I did. I was out of my confort zone taking it and then entering it! That being said I am so happy I did! I have two great comments, one of which is a comment from Paul! I'm sitting at 5.79. I would do a cartwheel but the hospitals are busy enough!

Happy Sunday DPC!
