Interesting or not, that story isn't being reported by any legitimate news sources. The only sites reporting it are quoting the Glenn Beck piece.

I noticed that too......there is a possibility that it somehow slipped through the cracks. I dunno I might have to look into it further

Well the FBI has released images of the suspects. A goateed white 20ish guy. Every Arab American lets out a sigh of relief.

There's no question that story slipped through a crack.

The pictures. Hard to tell, really, but young white guys, I think.

The video.

Ann, I take it that you don't hang out with young folks from the middle east much?

I'd peg these two as quite possibly Syrian in fact, but in any case, they appear to be olive skinned, and the features are absolutely consistent with middle eastern descent.

Still, hard as hell to really know much from grainy surveillance photos.

So I take it you *do* hang out with Syrians a lot? Otherwise, why make a personal comment like that?

Thats a confident statement. You can tell all that? did you work for Israeli border patrol?

One of the kids looks middle eastern, perhaps Southern Italian or Hispanic...or perhaps like a young Adam Sandler. The one with the backwards hat is nondescript. I went to high school with Irish kids that looked more Syrian than him.

oh- but did you notice how bow-legged the guy with the white hat is?

I know a guy from Syria...and he can tell a syrian from jordanian or yemeni only when he hears them speak arabic ( he can tell the different dialects) but he can't tell the nationality just by looking at them.....you must be some kind of savant? able to guess exact nationality just by a bad picture?
please, even if you are correct.....

Actually yeah. I do - have a lot of middle eastern friends, ranging from Libya to Syria, to Iran and the UAE. And these guys could be cousins or brothers with a few of them.

And that's not to imply that middle easterners are the only shitheads who do this, or anything of that nature, the guys just DO look to be of potential middle eastern descent, and a Syrian I know looks like this kid's older brother, olive complexion, same nose profile, and curly mid-length black hair. So, I promise, not just being a silly ignorant racist. :)

As you said, it's a guess, nothing more. And it's only because I have friends who could be misidentified as the guy. As for him being white? That's a MUCH worse guess honestly, but could still be correct. As I noted, grainy surveillance video - you can't really tell shit.

Reminds me of the "I ain't a racist, some of my best friends are black" line I used to hear in London.

Okay. to take this to a ludicrous conclusion:

The guy in the white hat has a big nose.
The guy in the white hat is bowlegged.

Now, determine the ethnic origin of the guy.

Frankly, it doesn't really matter where the guy or his ancestors came from.

Or, does it?

Lets just leave the speculation to the fringe element...and cheer on those who are trying to find these guys.

Talk about America's most wanted, these two better have good hiding spots.

Perhaps Richard Jewell was on the tapes?

If they weren't lucky enough to get out of the country I don't see them eluding capture for very long at all.

My question is why a pressure cooker? Not small Kind of hard to pack in a backpack. Also the FBI noted they were trying to trace the timers back to a manufacture. So what was the actual explosive used? Are there photos of the backpacks or the suspects without the backpacks? I guess what are we not being told? Too many questions. Not enough answers.

Why a pressure cooker?
Easy to obtain
no need to drill a hole for detonator
will hold pressure to a reasonable level (though not as good as a stronger container)
large capacity relative to a pipe bomb

Actual explosive? Almost certainly a low order explosive - likely flash powder or black powder - perhaps something as 'exotic' as a perchlorate.

As for pictures of the subjects, see Ann's post from earlier today.

We actually know a surprising amount given the relatively short time elapsed since the event - the amount of information available to us today is simply astonishing.
