Trying to figure out the species of spider shown here:



I found it crawling on a rock on the sandy shore at the north end of Newfound Lake in New Hampshire.

Looks like a wolf-spider to me but I wouldn't put my money on that (kinda a guess)

Yeah, you guys are right... the eye pattern is definitely from the Lycosidae family...

I can't seem to find a decent taxonomic key for lycosids, but it looks similar to Hogna carolensis, which is limited to the Carolina area... but it's probably from the Hogna genus.
