That's ok, Alice. Happy Easter. He came to seek the lost.

Right. Good thought.

And now it's time to return to the Stanford basketball game where the Stanford Red are
about to take on the Georgia Lady Bulldogs in the 2nd half.

Good game.
:)

Like his predecessors he's still pro AIDS and unplanned pregnancy though (he made strong objections in Argentina to the free distribution of any contraception), so without taking in to account any other factors unless he does a U-turn there he's still going to be responsible for the deaths and suffering of millions through his papacy.

Exactly, symbolic gesture. It's what people and leaders do when the cameras aren't on them that matter. Let's hope he frees up some of that money to help the poor and promotes contraception. Oh, and let women have a proper role in the Church. Maybe a woman Pope in the next 50 years?

Uh, you do realize the Catholic Church would be the largest NGO in the world in its efforts to help the poor, right? I sense you simply have your mind made up about the church and craft an image to validate it...

No. I know little about the inner workings of this worldwide business. I have never bought into the religion thing. I understand faith, don't understand why the faithful need to be organised into religious herds, or why they need to be told what to do and think by a self-appointed church which is usually incredibly hypocritical.

There's a strong likelihood that had you been born in Syria to Muslim parents you'd be a Muslim now. Same-ish faith, different herd, told what to think by different self-appointed leaders.

Funny thing that huh Doc? That very comment could be applied to a number of people of faith.

You know... the old "my mind is made up, don't confuse me with facts" aspect that some hold so dear. :O)

Some people are more self-aware of their steadfast positions than others... :)
