Larielblack in her Xena costume... Maybe after a battle, strategicaly placed rips and tears...
After that, the Grand Canyon, any tall skinny water fall in the mountains, the Giza in Egypt, the pyramids of South and Central America, the mountains from a small plane, President Bush relaxing, Aerosmith, shall I continue...
Oh yeah, I would give up a lung to be able to photograph my dad who would love my photography. If only I had found it in time.

hmmm, for me. It would have to be late 1946, early 1947 when Pakistan/India were on the road to freedom.

Lynn, when you are going out looking for game in Africa, you have to be in a jeep or truck with certified guides. No walking out on your own is allowed and with good reason...you don't want to come face to face with a charging rhino or elephant or hippo or worse a hunting lion. That's the only way you can do that safely.

yeah, i can see the danger, but it would be nice to go just me and the guide and not a bunch of other tourists....despite my being one too... besides if I got charged by a rhino and got a really great shot before I got mauled it would almost be worth it (just kidding)

Having a professional high end DSLR WITH lenses and the money to get whatever lenses and programs I need to edit them. Ah, but also first the knowledge to be able to use them to their full extent! I actually do like class when it's on a subject I enjoy...

My fantasy would be to have an endless supply of talented models constantly available.
08/29/2004 04:40:25 AM · #34
Maui Surfers, Iaido masters and their craft, Asia and its people, Angelina Jolie, Monica Bellucie, Ewan McGregor, Samuel L. Jackson.

My own personal projects which never seem to workout the way i want...(Fairy tale stuff, mostly).

Make the cover of National Geo.

Mine is to be able to photograph a lion kill or something to that effect. I'd also love to take photos of the migration in the serengeti.

I'm living in Africa so you'd think that I would have the chance to see all of these things but they don't come easy!

Heh - one of my goals is to do the double and run the ascent/ marathon back to back

My goal is a fortnight photo tour round Africa. Antartica would probably be around next, though Asia/ Butan/ Nepal might edge that out.

I was up Pikes Peak last week. It's very very cold and the world spins. Be sure to try the flavored oxygen at the bar!

I would love to do Africa too and shoot the wildlife, particularly the chimps at Gombe.

I can only assume I'm slated by Fate to die in the secondhalf of next year since so many of my dreams are coming true during this year and the first part of next year.

(Sorry, if that's a bit too morbid a sense of humour for some).

I feel most compelled to photograph when I'm travelling - travel has always been a passion of mine and I am so motivated to capture some of what I see. There's just something in my heart that lifts when I'm on holiday - more than usual even, since I'm an optimise anyway. And it opens my eyes even wider to what's around me. My eyes feel greedy as they seek out all the details, the colours, the shapes. I love it!

Earlier this year I was lucky to be able to participate in a short but special trip to Kenya courtesy of my dad, who I inherited the love of travel from and who I accompanied on the trip. The results of that are currently on sale in my Prints gallery in aid of wildlife conservation work (see link below). The trip was a festival of wildlife and instead of regular game drives we chose from activities lead by specialists in photography, art, birds etc. I did mostly photography and painting sessions.

Shortly after that my husband and I took a 2 month trip to Africa - we'd been planning (and saving) for three years and it was an amazing trip. I've still not sorted through the resulting images yet but I sure took a lot. So many memories, so much to see (and photograph). And we renewed our wedding vows too, which was nice.

And I've always wanted to go to both the Galapagos Islands and the Antarctic. We're visiting the Antarctic later this year and the Galapagos next spring. All those penguins and icebergs and blue-footed boobies! (Are you listening, Jacko?)

Incase you're thinking I'm a spoiled bitch who doesn't appreciate how lucky she is, rest assured I truly truly truly do. My dreams couldn't beat my reality right now and I know that very few people can say that. I thank Fate every day for giving me what I have.

So glad to hear your trip is almost upon you... I'm sure you'll love it. I hope you are able to find some quiet moments, just you, a guide, the scenery and wildlife, and not too many other tourists.

Would love to know your itinerary/ trip details!

(Kavey, ever the Africa travel addict)

I love his work... it's just inspirational.
I was just reading about the internship programme on his website - does it strike anyone else as nothing more than free labour???

I would love to get a RV and travel around the States, and Canada. Have more camera equipment than I do now along with a new laptop with satalite comunications and travel around snaping photos of places and things. meanwhile, making a photo journal of things I see that normally others might miss. As well, meet people and shoot a photo to tell a story about them and /or just who I meet. Also, go to every DPC memebers home and meet them and eat all their food and leave...:)

Or, even better...A National Geographic Photographer...

Crap, then I'll have to concider eating at McD's (again) when I come around to your town...:)

Well, with the exception of your chosen eatery, pretty much every eatery in town (London) cooks better than I do so you aren't missing much...

:o)
