It is my understanding that we are not supposed to vote on the images of the other members of our team. I am honoring that.

Exactly correct, I think all teams will honour the voting thing, we do not vote on our own team entries and vote fair on the rest in the contest..

I think the Holy Grail for TPL would be if it were possible to ensure that one team couldn't vote on the opponent team's entries.

I.e., during a given match up, you couldn't vote on the opponent team's pics.

Is there anyway to do that?

Yes, but not by us. Essentially, it's never going to happen. :)

not a good idea in my view, as it will make it easy to identify the opponents' pictures.

90% of this site is based on the honor system.... If people wanna cheat they'll do it but the site, and TPL, works the best if we just stick to the golden rule.

It wouldn't make any difference if someone knew who the opponent team's pic was and there wouldn't be a way to cheat. The whole point would be to take the ability for an opposing team to vote on the other team's pic away. You could know which pic was there's, you just wouldn't be able to vote on it.

The reason I thought of it, is because the coding already doesn't show me my entry when I vote. So there has to be a way to show or not show certain images based on who's looking.

Tha is out of our humble hands and as said already, the system works as it is when people are honest, This site is pretty good in the honesty dept.

I understand its out of your hands. It's site ownership issue. And I understand that's likely not going to happen. I'm asking the question as more of a suggestion for future TPL's. Just seems that regardless of the good faith/honesty we presume exists that it'd be better to remove all doubt and consternation if it was relatively easy to do.

OK We have a couple of players dropped out..

On our team we have not heard from Denielle, we hope she is OK but have to replace her for the TPL participation.

And also Dodge & the Burnouts have a Spare place

Forgive me if I get this wrong but I think we have some people who have been waiting a while to join if a space becomes available so I will try to back-track and see who is up first.

If it is YOU please let me know.

how about we just have fun doing it and stop worrying about what we cant control. i for one am really digging the interaction with my teammates. its renewed my excitement in the site and encourages me to participate more.

Well said Mike.
I'm learning a ton from my teammates I'm lucky to have a bunch of knowledgeable and more important patient people who are giving me excellent guidance. No doubt I will be a better photog. after the TPL is over.
What more can I ask for?

Why can't you ask a question around here without it being interpreted negatively?

I'm not criticizing TPL. TPL is the only reason I checked in periodically over the past two years at DPC. It's the only reason I started entering challenges again.

I'm having as much as fun as everyone else for the same reasons. I have some great teammates who have already made a huge difference in my photography.

I tinker with everything. I was just asking if its possible and if so would it really be that hard to do. I really asked it to see if there was a to shut up the chitter about TPL influencing voting.

Yes, it is possible, and indeed when we had the DPL, which was site run rather than a side-challenge, it was coded so that you couldn't vote either on your own team's photos, nor the opposing team's.

i hear you but there will always be chatter about things not being fair, you can set up the perfect set of rules and someone will find some way to make it seem like they are unfair.

with the current participation numbers i think you'd be able to actually vote on like 3 images after 8-O

I'm hoping we have Kroburg's photo-entry for at least Week#1 ? He's been very involved, and a big contributor to team threads. He just has some unavoidable business coming up. Welcome gcoulson!
