Hi
I have been looking at trying some star trail photography and have read a lot about it.
Does anyone have any advice, tips or experience that you could share.
For instance image stacking, foreground exposure and the most successful apertures / ISO / time
It is cold in the UK and the nights are clear so it is a good time.

Thanks,
Guy

In my limited experience, I have found this to work the best:

30 second exposures and stack later for lower noise
Lowest ISO you camera will deliver
A wide lens with a very wide aperture is preferred
Your battery will run out if you try for a few hours or all night. An AC adapter can cure this.
Turn off the feature in your camera that takes a dark frame between shots to avoid the dashed trail effect

Here is one thread with some good info. Here is one with some info on NR. Here's another with general info. There are some more out there, these are the ones I found on a short search.

They look great,

I'm going to give it a go.
I think I'll use my 16-35
but i might try my 8-15 just to see some different effects.

Thanks again
