When he comes to the Ottawa area, maybe we could have a GTG and take a group photo.

Why don't you forget the card and just establish a site or email address to which a high-res edited photo can be sent? Once all the photos are in they can be sent to whoever's going to make the slideshow or whatever (if it's someone else) ...

good idea, like was said a dropbox account or flickr page or something

would be nice to have some kind of blog type thing so people can follow along as Lost travels.

Yes I agree an upload site would be best as not everyone will have the same card readers etc etc so I will maybe set up a BLOG account in the name of LostPenguin.

Anyone know of any nice 'free' blog websites we can use?

We will start in the UK, then send him out USA way and then back to Europe via Asia and hopefully home. I need to put my Geography head on and try to put everyone in some kind of order then I think when we have everyone sorted it would be best to multi PM our addresses so they are always available on DPC and hopefully keep track of where Lost is.

Oh -- and I'm sure he would absolutely love to meet my squirrels -- they'd probably get along famously!! At least my squirrels like other stuffed animals... so he should probably come to Virginia.

How about a thumb drive, rather than a memory card? Might be a little more damage resistant, and we can simply transfer the images from the computer. No card reader needed.

PS: I'd love to host lost as well.

Oh and I like the thumb drive idea. Fairly universal.

I bet it'll take more than a year for lost to make it round the world given the number of participants in this thread

Im trying to get some kind of order sorted here for a natural cruise around our Earth but its hard on an iPad..

Could really use some help for the USA side of things, Geography was not my strong point.

If you're going to trust a thumb drive (that it won't get lost), then you might as well put the list onto that, too, rather than paying to ship paper, as well.

However, please please please lets find somewhere to upload photos (and keep the list) for when the thumb drive is more lost than the penguin.

I'm confused. Why don't we just post the images on a thread here on Dpc. The next recipient should just PM his/her address to the sender when that person's turn is over.

I think the idea is to have a place to post hi-res images, where everyone can have access. You all have to agree to share ... :-)

Maybe you can put together a collage print at the end of the "project" similar to what we did with the "alphabet" series ...

Lost has a nice little velcro hole in his back perfect for a pen drive, we just need to sort out an order so lost don't get lost, Im very happy to have a Lostblog with high res pics and also the images on the pendrive are for maybe making a book of his adventure via vistaprint or similar.. I'd certainly love one.

Need help with the running order.

Obviously I will start in the UK and then maybe he can head off to USA and round via OZ, Japan, back through europe and back to UK, is ideal I think. If we give each person 1 week with Lost to get some shots and have a blast with him then post him on via the list we create here. I will put a pendrive in his back for jpgs or small video whatever you want to put. The important thing is to work out a smooth running order and how to contact the next recipient ...
