I'm thinking about upgrading my camera from the Nikon D5000, and I have a choice of the D3200, the D5100 or the D7000. I live in Costa Rica, so my choices are pretty limited. Also, prices are higher here! Any thoughts on what I should choose? Thank you! :)

Also, is it even worth it to go from the D5000 to one of these other ones? :)

I'm not a pro who can tell the difference between all these camera's. Only thing I know is that the D5100 is basicly a simple version of the D7000 with more possibilities re shooting video. Biggest advantage of the D5100 is the Vari-Angle LCD Monitor, where the D7000 monitor is fixed. On the other hand, you can't use older lenses (like the Nikon 70-210mm) on the D5100, so with the D7000 you're more flexible in lens choices.
I know, when I was doing research for my camera and I had to choose between the D5100 and the D7000, the decisive advise was that if you really want a camera for taking pictures, choose the D7000, do you want to have more video-fun, choose the D5100.

7000 would be the best option there in terms of capabilities.
5100 is good but has some features removed that the 7000 has and you may find yourself wanting in the future.
pretty sure the 3200 has even more features removed to make it more "general populous friendly". They also get physically smaller and lighter, but at the cost of functions.

you should be able to find a feature comparison between them pretty easily, see what the three versions have different from each other, if any of them are on your "want" or "need" list then organize it that way.
for me, a drive motor in-camera was a big plus of the 7000, but added size and weight. wireless remote for triggering flash is great for creative effects in some shots, they all do video so that wasn't a comparison point.... but yeah, see for yourself in those respects.

Thank you so much for your replies! I am leaning towards the 7000, but I wanted to see how much of a better camera it is against the other ones. :)

If you have a member here who you trust (as in REALLY trust) or a friend in the states, you might think of having them buy it here and shipping it to you. It might save you a few bucks.

If you feel that your photography needs have outpaced the capabilities of your camera, by all means upgrade.

If not, add to your collection of glass, you'll never regret it.

I thought about that, but the problem is taxes are super high when things are shipped! I'm actually getting a really good deal here! I've decided to go with the D7000 which comes with an 18-105 lens... As soon as I can gather up some more cash I'll invest on some really good lenses! Thank you all for the feedback! :)
