The box of crap is officially on its way East.

The clerk commented on the box being re-used, but in good shape. It's probably good for a few more trips, but eventually will need replacing.

AFAIK if you are using a USPS Priority Mail Flat-Rate box they will provide you a new box at no charge -- the box is included in the overall flat rate cost.

Yes the boxes are provided free of charge. However, swapping out a perfectly serviceable box for a new one just because it's free offends my engineer's need to maximize the use of any resource as well as my laziness since the box was already taped up and replacing it would have necessitated either an extra trip to the Post Office and repacking it at home or repacking it there at the Post Office which would have required the purchase of packing tape or a trip home to get my packing tape.

Sorry, I re-use boxes (and padded envelopes) all the time! I just wanted to make sure people knew they could get another box for free if this one suffered a fatal injury. I think having a series of mailing labels adds to the charm of the project.

I recycle boxes and mailers as well. Evidently it is a thriving avocation, as I have seen spray paint that is specifically formulated to cover ink and labels on cardboard boxes.

Now why someone would paint a cardboard box the color of a cardboard box is beyond me. I would simply get a bigger label.

It's REALLY, REALLY frustrating not to be seeing PICTURES, people. How hard can that be? Take a picture when you open the box, and take a picture of what you keep for yourself. That's HALF THE FUN of the game! Those of us who got this going early on, that's all the fun we have left. Indulge us, OK?

This is a photography website after all, you should all have the capacity to take 2 pictures and post them. It's not even like they'll be critiqued for quality of voted on.

The box is here!

The decision about what to keep is not final yet, but there are two pieces of crap on the short list now.
Tonight I will check through my pile of odds & ends to pick a piece or two to add to the box. Since I shoot Nikon, I don't have many items that would work well with Canon. There will be something good from here, and hopefully useful to someone, added the box for the next stop.

I will post the outgoing photo, and what I kept when it's ready to mail out. Thanks!

ETA, Wifey got into the box before I got home. I didn't tell her that it was coming in and she didn't know what it was. It was funny because she thought I had bought all that stuff, and she thought she should be getting at least an equal amount of stuff for herself.

Getting close to having it come back to me. I see a couple of pieces of my crap in there that nobody has taken and I may remove to make space for more desirable crap.
