Day 11 - May 11, 2012
The few weeks around this date I started a Photo Friday project with my daughter. I was practicing my portrait skills. I made it through six Fridays before she started with the non-participation. She learned she could make funny faces for the camera when she didn't feel like getting her picture taken.
This is one of those that I enjoyed a lot! I felt I increased my portrait shooting and processing skills and of course was able to show how beautiful my little girl is!

This is my tattoo artist. This time of the year I was shooting photos for the shop he works at as well as a video. Not sure I will do too much more with video though as it is a pain in the, well you know. |

Day 12 - The Fly
I wouldn't say this is my best photo for this period, but it's different from the rest. Camera in one hand, flash in the other, chased flies around until I got a decent capture.
Really want to improve on my macro insect photography. After seeing the work of Thomas Shahan, who only captures his shots in the wild, I have a real appreciation for this genre. If you have time, watch his videos of his field work, they're awesome.

Day 12 - May 27 & 28, 2012
I was on vacation in the Outer Banks, North Carolina during this time and I couldn't decide on a shot, so I am submitting two today.
In this first shot I was out on the dock behind our beach house just watching the sunset when this osprey caught my eye. I watched it soar over the water, eyeing up its prey, then dive down to make the catch. It flew back to its nest to feed its little one! A beautiful sight for sure!
In the second first shot I was out at the Whalehead club in Corolla with all the crowds watching the sun set. The framing of the sun caught my eye here and I just couldn't resist the silhouetted shapes and lines.
