does anyone on here use gimp? if so, do you like it? and how would u compare it to others like paint shop pro or photoshop?

When I tried Gimp a few years around it was just to see how it was I already had Photoshop. I really didn't like the interface it had at the time. It is pretty powerful fo a free application but I prefer PSP (paint shop Pro) and Photoshop. If I really peronsally needed to use a free program I probrably would use Gimp but only if I had to. I am sure there have been changes since I last used it and their interface has more then likely been fine tuned if not changed as well.

Yeah all of Adobe's interfaces are pretty close to one another like Photoshop Elements and Photoshop CS6 and the like. I originally first used PSP back in the day on version 5 and up to about version X I then moved onto Photoshop CS 2 I think and never looked back but its expensive thats for sure and PSP does virtually all that Photoshop does minus some cool things in Photoshop. If one was just starting out Gimp might feel better than what it felt to me but I was use to things being in certian places and the overall feel just never clicked with me. I think it would tend to slow me down having to relearn a new interface like Gimp.

I use the GIMP all the time.
Like everything else, once you get used to it, it's really quick and simple.

GIMP is great for what you need it to do, i wouldn't use it in production to edit tons of photos, but then again i wouldn't use Photoshop or psp either.
