My aunt in Roslyn (Long Island) just reported they got power back today. Also, in the news, the MTA is the hero of the week.

Ended up with half a foot of snow at my house despite a forecast that only called for rain mixing with snow and temperatures well above freezing.

Bear_Music & PennyClick were indeed in residence and in fact they pretty much had the eye slide over them, so they had winds coming from two different directions during the passage of this storm. It actually did more wind damage to the Cape than the Hurricane did, by far, although there was nowhere near as much coastal flooding.

How can you not be getting snow? You're not far from me. It's been snowing here pretty much nonstop all day and it's still snowing, but we still don't have much of anything on the ground. The grassy areas are covered, but nothing is sticking on the streets. I'm just happy there's no school tomorrow so I don't need to clear my car in the morning.

i didn't get a single inch. not on the grass or anything, at one pint we got some wet snowflakes falling but nothing substantial.

The Nor'easter from space on 11/08/12. This is yesterday's storm, not Hurricane Sandy, but it sure looks like a hurricane. Bear_Music may have had the eye of the nor'easter slide right over his house, if he was in residence.

(No offense to those really affected by Sandy. Just making a little light humor.)

Nice going Doc, weather.com has snowflakes on Saturday for us.

this is an obnoxious blow... our power went out earlier (back on now) and the commute was not great... not sure what's in store for the morning, but that's been bad all week,.....actually it kind of feels as if my life is turned on end. but who's counting.

i'm in nw nj, normally the snowiest part of the state. but this storm is hitting the east and south harder than us. it's really rough on the people near the coast, who are still struggling with flooding problems.

Fixed your meteorological reference ... ;-)

Actually supposed to warm up for a few days, but wet. Then back to cold *and* wet. :-P
Love that shot, BTW. All the leaves are long gone here.
