+1 on the "lighten up" response.
Political discussions / debates / arguments on DPC have been refreshingly (and surprisingly) civil these days and if someone has enough of a rapport with another member to feel comfortable making a jab like that and the other person is not offended, why not let it go?

Of course, as I'm sure you're aware, is that there is no blanket rule that can effectively keep that from being a problem - hence Frisca is actually right in noting that it's probably not particularly healthy behavior.
I tend to not mind being called out, although I still think that we should follow the rules we've agreed to, regardless if they are a problem for us personally or not.
After all, I really don't care what some folks may wish to call me, but I'll still report them for the rules violation, as while the actual insult doesn't bother me, their failure to follow the rules does.
Perhaps it's just me...... |

When you are calling out someone's work as being an example of something you dislike that is hurtful and a real no go zone, but over here in Rant we of the constant opinions know who lies where on the political spectrum and I feel calling someone out is a bit of shorthand for a call for divergent views.
And yes Cory we all know it isn't just you, but you all of those of your ilk ;) |
