Bite your tong...ehr, whole face? - The pics a selfie and the queer ice dancing muses I swiped off the cover of the "Symphony on Ice ...a collection of HI-FI waltzes for skating and listening" lp., about seven years ago. [can't post links but google that/images and you can't miss it... It's an avatar I use on and off occasionally elsewhere, so who knows?

Hey Dean! Welcome!!! You really should start a new thread in the Welcome forum because Art won't hand out welcome baskets favors anywhere else.

The death of DPC is one of our favorite recurring topics, along with, "Justin Beiber - genius or terrorist",
"Nessie was 'shopped", and of course "is that really Donald Trump's hair". Occasionally, we discuss photography, and fight debate about whether using anything other than film qualifies as such.

You're going to fit in just fine :)

Not a photographer...or something like that... And I rant.

Anyhoo, nice to virtually meet you and you and you too, and I'll likely catch you in that 'Intro' board that has to be around here somewhere. :)

Fascinating... It does look very familiar doesn't it? :)

As a brand spanking 5 minute old newbie looking to expand on my W1000 type experiences, this 'may have just wasted the previous five minutes it took to join' thread caught my eye. "What's going wrong with this place?!" is pretty much a universal topic in every specialized virtual community, and most OPs started a couple of years ago... I've no clue if DPC is dying, or...anything else. I'm anxious to pick at the zombie that remains regardless. - I do believe however that the honeymoon/glory days of internet socializing is coming to a close in many ways. The novelty is worn away as it's become increasingly commercialized and obligatory (any diehards not on facebook yet?)... Regarding the Art world, photoshop has shut the window in time where we could essentially trust that a photo depicted a literal snapshot of an actual scene. Editing has always existed. The level of easy counter-realism even novices can achieve has not... "Computer art" was stunning. Photochopped art is near commonplace, and that in itself signifies a larger 'Death' that does seem to be stealing some life from all sites like this... The capacity to 'perfectly' manipulate imagery is shifting from entertainment to propaganda and the denial that any ps techniques were used, is just starting to get serious.

Now...on with the show...

Welcome aboard! You should start your own thread in the Welcome Centre so we can all spy get to know you properly and pooh pooh view with incredible awe your portfolio.

What she said, love your moniker, and boy are you in for a ride here with your wry attitude and what seems to be a realistic approach to a new site......(For you....)

There's an awful lot of good stuff here if you weed through the sometimes overbearing bluster.

Give DPC a chance, and if you're serious about looking to improve your scope of photography, the means are here.

Welcome, fool newcomer!
