This is what I'm eating. Hanburger Helper made with ground turkey instead of hamburger mixed with borracho beans! Mmmmm Mm!

I love being a single guy. But that may be WHY I'm single?

And for those photographers out there, this was taken with my Canon D30 with my 50mm lens at f/4.0, 1/5th sec, and ISO 100. What would you rate it?

it's a little blurry, i think this could be rotated 1/4 degree to the left and it would be awesome...4

The focus is a bit off and I find the paper towel keeps drawing my eye to it. The DOF is OK but the top of the Spoon/Fork is just a bit out of Focus. You might want to move the newspaper too. Over all a good effort but with room for improvement.

(Why don't you use paper plates???)

*tounge and cheek*

Hi Bamaster from CC:
Wow...! what a gas-gas-gas!!
Humm. Not much impact but it is colorful, I love the depth in the blue bowl.
I think you could of picked a better background, the counter top is a bit distracting from the over all feeling of the photo.
The composition is nice although paper towels are an expense for a single dude.
The over all focus is a wee bit too soft for my liking. I also notice a small yet disturbing flash on the fork/spoon handle.
I do find borracho beans intriguing. What are they?
Over all this is a nice photo and I think it's great your cooking for yourself...........but dude you need to get a woman not only to cook for you, but to pose for you.

And just what kind of wine do you serve with Hamburger Helper with borracho beans ? Inquiring minds need to know!

Ah, well I'd typically go for a dry red, preferrably South American like an Argentinian or Chilean merlot. However, if I were with a young beautiful curvaceous hottie, I'd skip the wine and get straight to beer. Maybe a stout Guinness for starters and chase it down with a Paulaner Hefe-Weizen. Ah!

ANd for those who ain't from Texas... here is what you are missing!
Borracho Beans Recipe
It's more like a soup. VERY good on a cold day.
The way borracho beans SHOULD look. hehe

How about strait from the cook pot! Your counter top looks too organized for a single guy, hehe, of course I am going by the way my brother used to dine before he got married. Looks a little bit out of focus but who cares, it's dinner time. Bon Appetite! (spelling)? 7

Just a guess, but Mad Dog 20/20 goes well with most bachelor dishes :)
01/15/2003 11:22:24 AM · #10
The crumpled-up paper towel is the best part. The only thing is, a REAL man wouldn't have a napkin at all. Or maybe just an old sock or something. LOL.

Where's your Natural Light? Hamburger Helper and Natty Lite....a bachelor's feast.
01/15/2003 11:42:03 AM · #11
I was a bachelor once...Long, long, ago (okay, about 3 years). The bowl doesn't do it for me. Paper plates are the way to go. NO DISHES!!! Drink your beverage strait from the container. Again, NO DISHES!!! Try to restrict your diet to fast food. Why? You guessed it. NO DISHES!!!

For a single guy, your pretty close to the life style of an "attached guy".

The colour is good. The DOF could be a bit deeper. The background colours clash with the foreground (Single guy trait, lack of colour coordination). ;-)

Keep your chin up. You'll get there.

Another thread I'll continue to post total weirdness to.

A Power company had a call one morning that there was a deer up a power
pole ----- right! Sure enough there was a deer up a telephone pole. This is right beside the tracks a few miles west of the Headingly station in Manitoba. They figure a train hit it and launched it up there.

This looks like the sort of 'spam' i get in email all day every day... My personal request to you would be to post this stuff in the rant forum where those who are not interested can 'filter' it out of the active discussion threads...

Perhpas we can move this whole thread to the Rants forum? And my many others for that matter. I honestly have no problem with that. I tried to click the Edit button, but it doesn't allow me to change the Forum it's in.

I can't 'move' it to the rant forum. The best method would be to stop posting to this thread and start a new one there.
01/24/2003 02:44:37 PM · #16
Hey John, I can't agree with this one. He is keeping his stuff, which I find funny by the way, in the same threads, like most of us requested. I find it totally OK.

P.S. Before you respond, don't forget your Einstein quote and ask yourself what relevance that has to photography, and if that should have been posted in the Rant forums.

Just a thought.

I don't find it funny, but do find it very interesting. And it is a picture. What is up with his legs?

No, the deer is kinda sad... but it does make you wanna say "What the ...?"

I have some other photos of this deer that went through this Dodge Durango. It had fallen off an overpass and landed on the SUV... brutal. But what was amazing was the amount of damage it did to the Durango... it was completely totaled.

I didn't even notice the legs until you mentioned it. It got hit my a train and knocked up there.

what a completely unique photograph! (the deer photo) this doesn't belong in the rants, it belongs here in general discussion... for one, I find it a perfect example of why one should always carry your camera with you wherever you go! you never know when you will see a ripleys believe it or not shot like this one! post it on photosig and I get i gets a million viewings!

oh and speaking of the deer pic, hambuger helper is much better with ground venison! mmm mmm good!
