So should Limbaugh be banned from speaking? What about crazies on the other side of the isle such as Bill Maher? Where does it stop? Who decides who gets to speak their mind and who doesn't?

How about we ban only the ideas, concepts, beliefs and thoughts that are not based on reason/logic and cannot stand up to scrutiny? So basically 99% of what comes out of Rush's mouth and 1% of Maher's. Problem fixed.

I should charge for this.

Didn't hitler try that? Who gets to decide what stays?

My sarcasm?

This place has no tracks. Each thread is basically like a ball at the top of a giant Plinko board.

ding ding.

Let us assume that guns were NOT available.... do you think he could possibly club 50 or so people into submission... I think NOT.

If guns kill people, then my silverware made me fat.

...Hmmmmmmmmmm there could be a causal link you know. :O)

I reckon you would all be chirping differently and less callously if a friend or a relative of yours had been one of the victims.

Before you stand up and make generalized statements, it might prove prudent to take the time to read what everyone did say.

As for being tough...you have no idea.

Had someone been able to shoot back rather than just be so many fish in a barrel, maybe.

Well, if you did take the time to read what I wrote and you come to this conclusion, then I fear that your level of comprehension is sadly lacking.

Have a good day nonetheless.

You then wrote

Ray

This one is based on the killings in Arizona last year but it pretty much sums up reality as I see on guns.

Some of the info coming out right now (from CNN online):

"The suspect in the mass shooting at an Aurora, Colorado, movie theater screening of the new Batman film early Friday had colored his hair red and told police he was "the Joker," according to a federal law enforcement source with detailed knowledge of the investigation.'"

"Meanwhile, authorities were faced with the difficult task of entering Holmes' Aurora apartment, which was left rigged with traps. "It's booby-trapped with various incendiary and chemical devices and trip wires," Aurora Police Chief Dan Oates said, adding that it could take days to work through the apartment safely."

So this latest nutjob was studying Neuroscience ....I highly doubt there was no indicators. Just like the Virginia Tech nut there was a 'history' that preceded the violence.

Evidently, there was a Batman comic from 20 or 30 years ago that contained a villain with red hair who gunned down movie patrons in a theater.

Please advise this non-American about some things..

- how would you characterise Rush Limbaugh's views?
- how does anyone draw a causal link between your tragedy in Colorado, and his views, or how else has he contributed?
- why do you think that these awful events are fairly common in the USA, or is that not a valid impression?

- just trying to gain a better understanding of things, that's all.
