My side effects included an erection that lasted more than four hours and I grew hair - albeit Trump hair.

I installed the new firmware(2.0.0) update and found a very nasty side effect in my opinion, the canon 7D is underexposing when coupled with the 580EX II (Camera set to P and speedlite set to ETTL). I have two copies of flashgun and both are behaving the same... Has anyone noticed the same problem or its just me? I have to bring up the Flash Exposure to +1/3 stop and still im not happy with the results.... Any help would be really appreciated.

I haven't used the external flash yet, but I did notice some major underexposure issues in daylight with several lenses after the upgrade. :/

I haven't updated yet. Waiting to hear more reports on any problems associated with the update.

Please post your results if you have gone to V2.

How have you found the upgrade?
Has it changed things that you didn't expect it to?

Thanks everyone.

Thanks Art Roflmao,

So its confirmed!! The new firmware update does in fact change the exposure on the 7D and im really NOT happy with it(ETTL II is not working as it should due to underexposure)
i am looking for a way to bring the firmware to the old version(1.2.5) "if its even possible". Hope Canon fixes this issue as soon as possible :(

You can download the original firmware from the same place as the new firmware ... in fact you could then swap and shoot the same subject with both firmwares to confirm the issue

I gave up on the crappy Targus reader I had. It continuously disconnected during file transfers. I just started connecting the camera directly to the computer and importing via Lightroom like I always did.

I would prefer to have a card reader, if someone can recommend a decent one.

I have one of these card readers and really like it.
Mine is only USB two though. These must be the newer models taking advantage of USB 3

Lexar Card Reader

I'll affirm that; I have one, great reader.

I also have the LRW300URBNA, and on a USB3 port it *rocks*. My Sandisk Extreme III cards are not fast enough to tax the throughput, and in any case it is approaching the transfer limit of the main data drive, LOL.

Hey Bear, have you upgraded to V2 on your 7d yet.
How have you found it?
Any problems?

Some report better focus other underexposing.

Your thoughts?

It's PennyClick's 7D, she just lets me use it now and then :-) She's been real busy, I don't think she has done the upgrade yet...

Canon Firmware update to the update

Version 2.0.0.3

I didn't downlaod 2.0 as I am shooting some jobs and didn't want any problems associated with the update.
Have another shoot tomorrow and will upgrade after that.

Has anyone else done the new upgrade.

Any problems??

I haven't done much shooting since I got the underexposing 2.0 update and the few shots I did came out ok and I used compensation on a couple. I'll download and install this new one and let you know in the next day or so.

Updated to 2.0.3 - took a couple snaps - so far so good. I really like the max auto ISO feature.
