I have a Nikon d90. Need some input on how a Nikon 17-55 2.8 will work on it? Anyone have any experience with this lens on a D90? What pros/cons have you experienced using this lens on a D90? And, is this a good lens? Thanks

I don't have one but i have used one and it's pretty much a top rank professional lens. The range is suited/designed to your DX format on the d90. You get the 'classic' mid range 24-70ish field of view. If you are after that focal length i can't imagine you'd be disapointed with it or better off with something else.

I've used the lens on a D200.

Pros: sharp, fast and overall great quality.. After all, it's the 24-70 2.8 equivalent for DX (nuff said)

cons: has lost a lot of value since people have started switching more and more towards full-frame.

Conclusion: if you can get a great deal on this lens, go for it. If not, either wait for a great deal (because these do come up.. I sold mine for $675 to a friend!) or, if you don't mind losing a little bit on the wide end, get the 24-70.

I haven't used it on a D90, but for several years it was more or less the only lens I used on my D300. It's a really good lens. I am very attached to mine, even though I seldom use it these days. For some reason I can't bear to sell it though (that says a lot I think).
