I didn't enter this as had just had a bad final score in another challenge and didn't think my entries were too hot. Anyway may as well post them here

@ paulsteven Nice work there. I let the scores I receive in challenges bother me a a little too and often take a break after receiving yet another 4.xxx. Hang in there! I like the first shot and think you needed just a bit more shutter to bring out the light a little more.

Here is my entry:

Here is my entry before I realized it was basic editing:

This was a 3 shot HDR at 1 stop exposures merged in Photomatix Pro and editied with PSE9 to tweak the light. I really wish I could've entered the HDR. I am now no longer a fan of basic editing. I would appreciate any comments on the outtake.

@ EL-ROI your HDR one is fantastic . I liked the other one also and gave it a 7 . but it seemed a little overexposed . now I understand why, you took it thinking of the HDR? I also like the poem...
@ paulsteven I like the top one better also . just needs better lighting and I'm not sure of the color of the background ..

Alternative: (For straight challenge)

Loved the alternative shot (was my first shot actually) but I felt the curves in the fret dot would hit my score, having seen how some shots got away with it I am not so sure, obviously happy with a top ten though ;)

TY for the feedback. It was a difficult exposure and I did have an HDR shot in mind until I found out it was basic editing, so I went with that... bad as it was.

@ Mark-A Obviouly you chose well. I didn't find anything wrong with the fret shot. I guess the dot was a circle huh? Interesting how you shot one low key, one high key.

Thanks EL-ROI - yeah 4.xxx scores suck! I have however got over it now and have a few entries on the go, one of which is doing rather well:)
