Challenge Details:
"Neon is the 10th element in the periodic table. It is colorless but glows in an electric discharge. Neon is also used to describe an extremely bright color. Use this challenge to creatively photograph "neon"... but please, no "Open" signs!"

Crap...no "open" signs! There goes my GREAT photo opp. How about "Closed" signs? :) This should be fun....My State Fair is about to begin and I'm sure I'll find something out there wondering around at night with all the drunks and carneys.....

This ain't cool. I'll be in Vegas during the challenge and won't be able to submit anything. Looks like I'll just have to resort to take photos for my own personal enjoyment. Nooooooooooooo!

Damn right....get drunk while shooting photos....I haven't done that yet...perhaps my long exposer shots will turn out better...:) Or, just allll my shot will be "blurry".....better yet, I drive better when drunk, perhaps, I'll capure better when drunk....:) And when I submit my 'neon" shot...I can say that EVERYTHING was neon, what do you mean "it dosen't fit the challenge"!!!:)

Hmmm in Vegas, the neon capital of the world and unable to participate in a neon challenge. What a cruel twist of fate.

Something tells me that once he's in Vegas,. the last thing on his mind will be submitting to DPC.

It dose not have to be neon light it can be a very bright color, but I bet pictures with only bright colors and no neon light will get voted down...

If that's the case and only literal depictions of "neon" will be voted highly, the voters need to exercise some creativity and reward those who often submit entries whose thinking sits "outside of the box."

You know, those ubiquitous signs in the front window of stores and, um, watering holes, that the owner lights up when the place is "not closed."

Small businesses frequently go to Costco or similar supplier and buy a standard neon sign which says "Open" to post in their store windows. The admins don't want you to use one of those signs as your subject.

Luckily, I am still living in the 80s and have tons of neon things in boxes. I need to go pull them out!
