I'm signed up for Rossbach's workshop at Ricketts Glen in October. I've always wanted to shoot the waterfalls during the fall colors.

Depends on where you live = distances traveled/gas costs;
Whether you need overnight accommodations;
How much you spend for the dinner the night before;
If you can manoeuvre the trek without dropping your camera

All of those variables come into play.

Thought this was due for a friendly bump-er-oo! Less than a month away already! If you haven't already let me us know what you'd like to bring to the picnic, please speak up so we can plan accordingly.

Looking forward to it! Hopefully the weather will cooperate... we've been pretty lucky all these years so far!

This reminds me that I still need to make hotel reservations in the area. What time do we meet at TGIFridays? I have to work Saturday, but if I can leave early, I should be up there around 7.

I'd say 7:30... I have a photo thing to shoot on Saturday that makes it hard for me to get there much earlier, especially given that I'd like to get checked in at the luxurious Rickett's Glen Hotel before dinner.

Thanks for the bump, Girish! Looks like there are a few things we still need for the picnic... would someone like to bring hamburger buns, and condiments? Those jumped out at me as things we could still use.

Also... are you guys still up for the TGI Fridays gathering on Saturday night? Sure you are... that was a rhetorical question :)

Here's a basic schedule o' events:

Saturday, June 2:

7:30 p.m.: Dinner at TGIF (880 Kidder Street, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702)

Sunday, June 3:

8:30 a.m.: Breakfast at the Trail's End restaurant (just down the road from our finishing point)

9:30 a.m.: We need a few people to meet at the bottom of the trail to leave a couple cars down there... they can later be used to shuttle people back up to the top to retrieve other vehicles.

10:00 a.m.: Everyone meets at the Visitor Center parking lot... map at the top of this thread.

10:30 a.m.: Start hiking!

3:00 p.m.: Gather at the bottom of the trail for the picnic!
