Here are the previous ones:

Abstract Macro
Abstract Macro II
Abstract Macro III

Also since it's similar:

Puzzle Macro
Puzzle Macro II
Puzzle Macro III
Puzzle Macro IV

Wish I had a macro lens. Maybe I'll try reversing one.

Extreme closeups work too.

Yes, they do. Though I still want a macro lens too.

Sold my Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro last year as I couldn't do it justice :( Shall have a play with the trusty 100mm Macro for this challenge methinks.

I'd like to get one eventually, but between having extension tubes for my 50D and the very good macro mode on my G11, I'm not hurting for one.

I'm really excited about this challenge as it will be the first one I am entering and I love macro work! I'm also looking at the previous challenges and thinking I am way out of my league. But it will be fun anyway.

Maybe this challenge will give me a reason to buy a macro lens? Not sure if the hubby would agree. Lol. It's worth a shot. :)

Seems a lot like the "whattheheckizzit" thread

I think that's actually "Puzzle Macro", which we seem to get about once a year. I always enjoy those.

Do what I do, make sure the camera bag is big enough to fit new toys, and never bring the box home or anything. I just pull out lenses like I've always had them and hope she never notices.

Through this method I've managed to sneak the 14-24mm, 24-70mm, SU-800, SB-800 all past her. The irony is she knew something was up when I pulled out the 50mm f/1.4.

I'll probably go pick up a macro, just don't know if I want the 100mm, 105mm Tokina, or the 200mm. Have the slot emptied out in the bag in case I pull the trigger later today.

Nah, I'm past those days. Actually, I'm thinking we'll hit the camera shop this weekend, I'll show him what I want... and maybe I'll get it. That seems to work better for me. I ask, I receive. I sneak, I get caught (eventually).

Well, tonight I tried my first bubble and oil shots thinking this would be an easy 6+ challenge - how wrong I was and kudos to those that make them look easy/simple! I do have an idea that will most likely garnish dnmc or illegal editing comments but will be fun if I can pull it off :)

Anyone want to help me chose between my two finalists? I think I know which way I'm leaning, but I just want some extra eyes to validate my choice. And also tell me if I can improve either one.

Please PM me, and thanks in advance.

The first two challenges I had entered, I didn't have any outtakes.
This time, I shot quite a few things.
Originally entered one image, but decided that it just wasn't quality, IMO, so I tried a different approach. Much happier. Can't wait to see the voting tomorrow! Not for my image, per say, but to see all the awesome entries! I look forward to voting days, it's so much fun! :)

Good luck to everyone who entered!

Well, I’m in. I don’t own a macro lens and have taken a picture that is recognisable. However, I have tried to present it in such a fashion sticking to Basic Rules that it may not be easily be identified at first glance. I’m still expecting a lot of DNMC votes but I like it enough to present to the voters. So let the 4’s roll in.
