We'll wait for you on Sunday ;)

We could do it from Friday to Sunday or from Saturday to Monday... I'll wait for your replies and we can decide it together.

PS. Chris I hope you won't search in the garbage bins here :p

Here in my region John, Abruzzo. We have an airport here (Pescara), otherwise the closest ones are Rome (200kms from here) and Ancona (150kms), but for you maybe it's easier by train or car.

Dates are around the end of the first week of April.

I'd probably fly to Rome from Toulouse and hire a car from there, I'll start looking into it.

Perfect John, good choice! I forgot about Toulouse and I even have a friend there :/

This area is connected very well - there's a motorway from Rome to Pescara and a wonderful scenic view on the mountains (it goes through two National Parks - my wife's family is there)

OK, we had a trip to Rome planned for orthodox easter (May 1st) but there is no such thing as going to Italy too many times! I'm thinking about driving, probably easiest to catch an overnight ferry from Albania to Bari. Then, as I see, it's a 4 hour drive. I'll look into the whole idea.

Agh, I had hoped to join, but Easter is out of the question for me. I love Abruzzo. :(

I'll have to skip this, live has changed since my last post here:( My son gets surgery at April 10th (complicated, but not dramatic) and it's completely uncertain at the moment how many hospital visits we have just before that time. Besides that, it wouldn't feel good to leave him alone just before that moment. Still, Italy is on my wish list, especially mrchhas's restaurant :)

Guys I'm not crazy, I apologize for my silence lately about this GTG.

I was about to send you a new message a couple of weeks ago when the doctors said that my mother needed surgery: she has an aneurysm and needs an operation. They told us that it was going to be very quickly even though it was not a matter of doing something as soon as they can. I hoped to know the dates in 2-3 days, but we are still waiting (of course, this is Italy). Probably I will know something more tomorrow and I promise I'll let you know as soon as I can.

Something has changed and I hope it's not too late: my mother surgery will be later (she has to be in the hospital on 10th April) so for the end of next week I am free. I really hope some of you can still be here during those days. Please let me know :)

Woohoo!
Got to meet Alessandro Alexkc in Rome yesterday for lunch and an afternoon of walking around Rome and taking pictures. Thanks Alessandro for taking the time to travel to Rome. It was a beautiful day and had a really great time.

It's been a great day with you and Toby :)

You are very nice guys and it's been very funny!

I didn't take great photos, but my effort was to not get lost in that labyrinth city ^_^

Even with only one photo here it looks like you had a great day!

Yes, we need more photos!
Taking Mark's shot as the only evidence, it's clear that Alex flew in people all the way from Hawaii to show him around Rome :-).

Some stuff was in voting, so I was waiting to show some of them. Of course I didn't take great images, but it's been a wonderful afternoon for us together :)

Nice series, thanks for posting! Looking at the results, the voters here agree with that :)

I'm bumping this cause more people should meet up and shoot together here in europe. ;)
I'm up for july anytime. we could do it in the Como area so we get italians and other northern europeans don't have to go so far, but i'm up for anything.
