I'm thinking of documenting my two kids this year -- they are seriously growing up so fast. Trav turns 10 in a few days, and the Princess turns 7, but I don't want to bore everyone looking. . .

No better subject if you ask me... I have several thousand photos of my daughter in her first three tears of life. Not all have made the family album cut but still I go over those shots all the time and just am amazed by the change as she grows up. Go for it. You are a great kid-tographer!! Besides this project I'd more for yourself anyway...

Yea, my kids are growing up so fast it is astounding me. DPC and Trav have actually grown up together. . .

Taken March 2002; I joined less than a month later. :)

Taken this past summer (2011).

OMG> I'm going to go cry now.

My subject will be "Travis and Kristiana"

Oh, this fits in nicely with my New Year's resolution to start up a photography project. My theme is the four elements (earth, air, fire, water) in any form, sometimes loosely-translated. :D

even though my track record isn't so hot, I will give this a go for 2012. 'whatever' will be my theme.

Love it :-) - not sure who was responsible for this imaginative title, but thank you - did you read the book?

That would be me, and yes, a handful of times. Worth reading if you have not read it yet.

I've been struggling for a theme. I wanted to do something a bit different this year, instead of just opting for B/W or Pinhole (like I have done for the last couple of years).

So, I'm going for something a bit abstract. Unplaces/Unthings - Places/things you don't normally notice. Let's see how long I can keep it up! I ran out of steam with the pinhole stuff last year.

In a desperate attempt at finding the strenght to go through a 5-years backlog of old photographs, and exploring processing options while doing so, my theme is 'Old photos, new processing' (I might occasionally post recent shots, but mostly years-old ones)

Last call for the procrastinators! ;)

I know I should do this.... tough decision
01/08/2012 10:08:14 PM · #90
Gack!!! Not only should I do this, but I should pick something I'm bad at, so that I have 51 weeks to practice it...

But do I really want to do 51 weeks or portraits??? Blech.

I'll let you know tomorrow... (since it's the last day, maybe that I will get me out of it...)

I guess I'm too late to join in officially - I've just rediscovered this site today - but I'm doing my own Projects 365 and 52 anyway. I like the idea of creating my own theme, except I wouldn't want it to be too narrow. Since I'm still a beginner photographer, perhaps my theme could be something like "new photography skills" and each week's photograph can be an example of a new skill I learned that week.

How strict are you on the deadline to participate?

Michele
