I was working on a laptop Toshiba Tecra 8100, I had 300MB and something RAM and a PIII in it and everything was perfect until .. I wanted to do some photoshop work ( Dreamsuite filters, combining large picture ...)
Just bought the HP734n for 800$ (box only, already had the screen). it an athlon 2400, 512MB ram and bla and bla (dvd, cd burner, network card, 6usb2, 3firewire, Modem, nvidia 64MB, 80MB 7200RPM )and .. maybe it's average (in config you can buy today)but for me .. it ROCKS, everything works like a charm with it.
So .. a nice config I would recommand in the range of price.

and ... as we're not allowed to edit too much in Photoshop .. (thanks god for this rule on a regular basis) .. you cannot even expect better pictures from me ... he he he .. not like I would get a new cam ;-)

Lionel

PS : it just happen to have a nice firewire connector in front ... maybe I just need to start dreaming about the Fuji s2 pro ;-) he he he

Congratulations! I just got a new PC too. Pentium 4 2.0 GHz, 512MB of RAM. $999 Canadian.

I have a fire wire too, so I might get the S2 as an "accessory" for my computer. Think it'll fly with my wife?

Yes .. otherwise you paid for the firewire for nothing !!!!!!!
See you are making a good use of your computer investment, getting the best of everything. Sure thing it's going to work.
