so i purchased a 25" hp 2509b monitor to go along with my 15.5" laptop (also hp) and recently got a monitor calibrator because the two screens were way off. im using the spyder3 pro calibrator. i first calibrated my laptop and everything looked great. then went to calibrate the monitor using the settings gamma:2.2 color temp:6500k and 120 brightness. the industry standard if i am correct. i followed the steps (factory reset monitor to 6500, measure ambient light, adjust monior brightness to 120, let it do its thing) then went to check the results only to find the color is obviously way to warm. its way off what my laptop shows and even my roommate who knows nothing about this stuff says the monitor looks to red. skin colors that show normally on my laptop show up quite pink on the monitor. i've tried running the calibrator with different settings and different ambient light levels, tried using the color sliders during the calibration, and now im out of ideas.

any help would be greatly appreciated.
